Well, kind of. And no, I'm not posting this to start another debate on the legality of paying someone for their time.

These guys sound like quite the professors! Hey, this certainly doesn't hurt our hobby, does it?

Jack,

It doesn't help to make the "act" legal, doesn't it?

Most of those kinds of websites are protected by the US Constitution.

The downside to this is that because this issue is now in the forefront, law makers will now propose laws all over the country to ban these kinds of websites.

When the day comes that prostitution becomes legalized, I will declare victory for all of us.

But LE will try to find other statues to use to continue to harass people.

They ought to be the ones get thier butts locked up.

NM law was oddly interrupted to require a "place" of prostitution most state laws including AZ would not have that defense.

Also note that the site received no funds from prostitutes which was the 2nd key issue.

Websites have no constitutional protection against criminal laws.   Maricopa Cty issued a grand jury Subpoena Dues Tecum on Village Voice (backpage) which resulted in 850 pages of web pages, who paid for the ads, and other info now being used as evidence in the 39 felony cases against consenting adults that goes to trial August 24th.

Busts are happening all the time for solicitation of prostitution if a ad has GFE or other terms on ads here in Phoenix - or escorting without a license (two in the last few days)  Often swat team miitary like raids on people's homes etc in Phoenix which is going wild against consenting adults.
