The legal implications of using ID...

Good afternoon sort of Legal Counsel Corner!  I am hoping you might be so kind as to help with some concerns I have?

Recently I have been looking to advertise on 3 well-known and rather large websites.   Am I allowed to mention them by name here?  I'm not that is kosher sure so I won't until I get the OK.  You all probably already know at least two of them because, along with TER, they are among the biggest and most popular sites that providers use for advertising.

Since I have only ever been advertising with one site since starting in this business venture of mine, I thought I would branch out and get a little more visible on these other sites.   While perusing their advertising requirements, I found that two of these sites want a scanned copy of my driver's license while another wants the name found on my driver's license and the driver's license number.

This concerns me greatly as my information has been private up until this point.

What happens if I give these sites my information?  Does that not directly link me to my stage name and therefore it becomes a huge concern should legal issues ever arise?

I feel the need to mention that I am extremely cautious in who I meet and what I discuss, both via email and in person.  I have taken further precautions that I will refrain from discussing openly but suffice it to say that I am an educated and informed provider.  My website mentions nothing that would get me into any sort of trouble, at least I don't think it does.   My concern is not with getting caught by someone in person but with the possibility of having this information on file with these businesses.  Are these business themselves operating in a completely legal realm or are they under scrutiny by LE as well and therefore my information is subject to possible seizure should these companies ever get raided?

I hope my questions and concerns are clear.  Should you be needing more specifics and it is okay for me to mention the other sites by name, just let me know and I will post back with the pertinent information.

as they are not considered competition by TER.  On the other hand, you may not mention other sites that have escort reviews.

As for handing over information, yes, theoretically that information could come into the hands of LE if they ever succeed in getting a court to order some site to fork over the info as part of some criminal investigation.

For TER's part, their servers are off shore in The Netherlands, so it would be fairly problematic (though not impossible some day) for LE to obtain information from there.

If turning over that ID makes you uncomfortable, then don't do it.  There's safer ways to go about being a successful escort.

I usually just end up skipping those sites altogether.

Reason being is the way I see it... it's only a matter of time before the local authorities have their prosecutor subpoena their records for whatever reason... minor or major.

I know that some places like the roomservice people make sure to shred and get rid of potentially incrementing info and are constantly working to ensure confidentiality.

In regards to some of these other sites... Im not so sure..

Eros sure has a lot of fake pics, name switchers and agency girls falsely listed as independent. I suppose their ID requirements are only focused on screening out underage trafficking, but still...

Apparently, enough men take an Eros listing as some mark of quality that it pays to be on there. I sure don't.

And based on their track record for running fraudulent ads, I'd say that Eros certainly could become a target for a raid. Maybe even MORE SO because of the provider info they collect. I don't think your concerns are out of line.

Let's get real, if you are a sex worker then it is no big secret. Any hope for privacy and secrecy are delusional. Every one who offers love for sale is just treading water until they get busted, so any hope for privacy is fallacious. Believe me it is just a matter of time if you are a new "cummer" to the trade. Likewise the big city cops do audit the web and keep lists and photos of the members of the "golden society." If you don't make trouble they usually won't trouble you unless you find a dirty cop who wants his penis washed (that is the first step in France but we are not so clean here and we use condoms). Of course if you are really unlucky and look like a million bucks don't be surprised by the inevitable shakedown by a dirty cop or pimp. It is a tough business and not for the faint at heart. Of course in the rural areas where Jesus freaks are the biggest threat to cause the inevitable roundup, the cops are not as well organized always but some times they are. Sex is a topic that attracts men's interest like a bee is attracted to a flower, so it is a topic men are always hard put not to observe.

So in short, forget any attempt at privacy and flaunt your stuff, advertise without shame, make your bucks, try to save'em and look for an early exit unless you really love thousands of penises angling for friction and many girls and guys do enjoy being paid for sex and the continual attention; it makes them feel like movie stars every time the phone rings. Oh yes, make arrangements with a legal adviser as well as the local bail bondsman so you will be well organized when the client turns our to be less of a private citizen but actually Sargent Cockblock of the  local cop corps.

And to the escort who wants to leave the U-Ass-A for foreign shores, well a lot of gals, guys and t-girls do travel to where it is legal to sell sex. Of course you want to speak a bit of the lingo and don't think that as invaders you will not run into a tough situation once in a while, but international sales can be edifying and remunerative as well. America has a long way to go before it grows up and it ain't the  force it once was on the world stage.
,

I was able to establish my account without submitting my ID. That is an option if you are under age.

I also have a male friend who has an account on Eros and advertises for females. He has about 6 ladies under his account so that they are protected. You may want to consider that option with someone else. Good luck.
