If I act as a driver for a provider, driving her to and from outcalls, is that something I could get in trouble for?  I wouldn't make any of her arrangements or handle any aspect of her business.  I would just be on call to drive her where she needs to go.  Am I an accessory or aiding and abetting or something like that?

This is a question we have dealt with in detail, but in brief, if you drive an escort you can easily be convicted of pandering which means the facilitation of prostitution. It carries significant penalties and may be a felony in some jurisdictions. Do not provide transportation, even taxi cabs running escorts to their clientele have been convicted.

I would cancel and not follow through with the appt. Just don't know whats going on there.

Drivers are considered pimps and saught after in all these national stings going on.  You'd more than likely be looking at federal charges.  If you google prostitution, you'll see they just ran a national sting to find underage girls being pimped out and arrested all the drivers of those under 18 and over 18 as well.  

You may just be a nice guy wanting to help a girl out, but law sees you as someone forcing her to do what she does.

MANN Act. Federal. Big trouble.  Interstate trafficking.

Up till 1978 Mann Act was used in various ways to prosecute people involved with transport of prostitutes, however the act was amended with particular interest in prosecuting those involved with trafficking of minors for prostitution. If you drove an escort across state lines to do her the favor of transporting her to her clients it is questionable that the Mann Act would be used to prosecute you, unless the escort was under age. Likewise the Mann Act is a federal statute and usually involves the FBI, it is not a case that a local prosecutor's could use the Mann  Act unless he had Federal involvement. Of course a federal prosecutor might threaten to use the act as a bluff or might try to expand its current role. There are many other laws that would serve a local prosecutors means at present.
