Cell Phone associated with Solicitation!

Wow, live and learn. I recently had to use a cheap hotel as my regulars were booked , spring training.
On my 2nd day at Extnded Stay I had just paid in the office. Immediately called me and said corporate had redflagged me and to come back to office. I did, the clerk said a redflag had just come up on me as my cell phone had been associated with solicitation. I told her #1 Thats a violation of privacy, #2 It also sounds like discrimination and #2 None of your business what I do in my private life! I was mad. But after calming down I was just spooked and got the hell outta there. How often does this happen?? I will be changing my number ASAP.

wow--so at least we know that the hotel managements are reading backpage etc. Very interesting development with further legal implication, i.e. can a credit card company check your cell number and decide you are or are not a good credit risk if you are a sex worker?

Sorry they gave you a hard time, that is really what the clients are supposed to be doing. Your objections were a good effort but not exactly on point, but you did the right thing, getting out. Specifically,  if your phone number is listed in an advert, it is public knowledge so no privacy issue there. Likewise, if what you do in your private life does have an effect on the hotel whose reputation will suffer if you are stung on their premises, then what you do in your private life is their business. If you were an adult, having a tryst with another adult, rather that a pay for play girl, then you would have justification.

One might also say that the hotel chain's intervention is a justifiable way for them to avoid involvement with illegal practices in a most antiseptic manner as it is forseeable that a sex worker would use their facilities to practice illegal activites, something a judge would suggest when a hotel is repeatedly the site of said activities. Please be aware that the Beagal favors legalized or unregulated prostitution and sides with you, however the the system is not yet on our side.

PS-did you say spring training? Are you refering to mattresses or baseball? If the latter please do not hesitate to give us the info on the proclivities of the batsman you have snared, no names are required,"just the facks mam." as they used to say on the old Dragnet programs.

I've never heard of them going by phone number, though I have heard of credit card companies, pre-pay charge card companies at least, outright canceling the cards that have been used to purchase advertising at adult sites.  I'm sure it's more to limit their legal liability than anything to do with being concerned about credit risk (as there is no credit risk with pre-pay cards, that I know of.)

That's a new one on me.

In any case, if they start doing so, have a "clean" cell phone number to give them, not one that may have a number that appears in your advertising, etc.

As for how to handle the accusation, in the future don't respond with any denial or acceptance and instead ask question like:  Who told you this?  How did the conduct the investigation, etc.

What you learn can help us all in the future.

Getting the heck out of there is the best thing you did.

I would get a new phone number now, pronto.

that these companies recycle numbers if they are not 'paid current" after a while (there are only a limited number of numbers availabe, and these firms get blocks of reusable numbers assigned to them), so the disposable number that someone else used last year (could be the local drug dealer) before switching phones becomes a newly available number that you might get this year.  That's why you should have a purely personal phone number that you can give out for friends, family and purposes such as this.    Its also why you need to be wary when useing google the check a number, and why if you get a temporary disposable phone - google the number and see who had it before.

Most hotels will run your phone number through Google, and if you have ever posted anything with that number, it will show up in the search results... even deleted posts from years ago(the link may be broken, but they can still see where it came from). I book rooms using my other phone, that's not connected to anything except my other business... the phone i use for this, that number is NEVER given to hotels!!!

AFTER a day of traffic.  I wonder if cash pay triggers scrutiny?   I think it's very unwise for a lady to use her regular cell for business purposes.

I use my number and change it up,that way if they google it they get no results.
and sweet innocent lil ol me can relax and never have to worry bout it.
That number is supposed to be for in case of emergency like a fire in the hotel or whatnot, but you will find alot of places are googling the numbers of ladies traveling alomne these days.
Stay safe
