I am not sure it is illegal according to Minnesota law.
So I am wondering. Most people seem concerned that those with whom they have sexual encounters are at least 18 years old. When I look up the age of consent in Minnesota I see the age of 16. So if an adult, say age 40 somthing, were to have consentual sex with a 17 year old, is there a problem?
I hope you aren't seriously contemplating the ghist of your posting honey. Haven't you ever watched that show on MSNBC - that makes millions of dollars by setting up stings on pedophiles? There is a huge difference between a 17 year old having sex with a 19 year old boyfriend after the prom, and with a 40+ year old.
Besides there are plenty of girls on Craigslist who are over 18 and look 16, why risk jail.
Why do we have laws against sex with minors? Because while many young people feel they are capable of making their own decisions they don't have the life experience to make valid judgement calls and an informed consent.
I can probably be considered an authority on may december relationships and pedophiles since I discovered some older men like to make little boys be girls when I was 13. In my case I don't feel I was "forced" to to anything I didn't want to do, I had hormones raging and he was nice to me. But I was far too young and perhaps it's why I'm in this business today.
My current partner Jessica is 23 and I'm, well... older than her.
She was 21 when we met. Had we met 5 years before it would have been a whole difference situation and would have never happened.
But at 21 Jessica was an adult, on her own, with a college degree, a tour in the Navy and had even lived in Spain. That's a big difference between someone who's 17, still in high school and living at home.
So if you or anyone here is even remotely considering sex with a minor I recommend you seriously examine your reasons and needs before you get yourself into a serious bind.
Hugs,

I am not sure it is illegal according to Minnesota law.
I have to disagree with Jamie. If the age of consent in your state is 16 then having sex with a 17-year-old is not statutory rape regardless of how old you are. That's what the age of consent means.
Whether the age of consent really is 16 is another question. It might be for all I know, but if you're wrong you can get into a lot of trouble. A mistaken belief about what the law allows is not a defense.
Keep in mind that paying for sex with a woman who is barely over the age of consent is just as illegal as paying for it with an older woman.
There may be a problem going from one state to another in order to take advantage of a lower age of consent. I don't know what the law says about this, but I want to at least note the issue.
Like sidone said, paying for sex is a crime, regardless of her age. However, I expect that your experience in the legal system would be much more vigorous, and harsh, if the gal you are caught with is 17, rather than 21.
I'm thinking she must have read the same law you did and thought she was ok too LOL
and a big hairy guy wearing a helmet with a lamp on it and all covered in coal dust answered and told me to bend over.
Then I realized the importance of spelling well.
(This is a joke, by the way.)
but here sex involves money so please forgive my fellow posters for making that presumption.
Heck when a fellow hobbyist got married he could not get over the habit of paying after cumming. So he put three benjamins in a white envelope after he came. His new bride took the envelope, went to the bathroom and came out livid. "you are $50 short," she said testily.
He divorced her the next day not because she was a provider, but because he only used less expensive girls from CL
Age of consent varies by state, anywhere from 14 to 18.
If you are 35 and have consentual sex with a 15 year old in certain states, it is not statutory rape
In Calif age of consent is 18 OR over 13 and within 5 years of age...............if she is 15, you can legally do it if you are 20 or under
BUT since you ask on an escort board, if there happened to be an exchange of money involved, then you have a whole other range of things you can be charged with...........enticing a minor into prostitution, corrupting a minor, etc, etc, plus you can't really count on a scared 16 year old who's parent have suddenly been made aware she is escorting to protect you at all..................very likely it could suddenly turn into a situation where she claims it was a forced encounter, etc
In other words, stick with 18 and up, you will have different consequences than her few years older boyfriend
...why would someone want to have sex with a 17 year old even if it was legal? Yeah, there is a problem but maybe not a legal one. She is just a kid no matter what the age of consent is in your state. I hope you are not thinking of seducing her.
Wouldn't it more fun to be with an adult playmate who knows what she is doing?
Not a few older men are very turned on by the thoughts of sex with a prepubescent or near prepubescent.
I must admit, on occasion, I've entertained the same thoughts.
In fact, this weekend I am seeing a provider who, despite being in their mid-20's, could easily pass for a mid-teen.
I love her for more than her looks, she is one of the most energenic lovers I have ever met, but her youthful appearance is a plus.
In the book shes 10 years old and Humbert Humbert falls in love with her. hes is a pedophile and has been having sex with very young girls beginning with prepubescent prostitutes in France. Its a love story not a sex story.
in the movie she's portrayed to be more 16 though the actress wasn't allowed to go to her own movie premiere because she wasn't old enough to attend.
there's a world of difference between an adult who can appear to be much younger but is old enough to make an informed decision on her sex life and a girl who is underage and though maybe very mature for her age is still a little girl without the life experience to understands not just the physical risks but the emotional ones.
Like Jamie i was sexually active at a very young age with a man who was quite a bit older. at the time i feel as if we were peers, looking back on it i was in some ways taken advantage of and yes my life as a provider could very easily be rooted in that relationship.
That 16 may be legal in a state, but sometimes they have a sliding scale where you must be within five years (or so) of the underage individual. That might mean you can sleep with a 15-year old if you are 19 but you could be prosecuted if you are 25.
I personally find it sick when people target kids yet the innocence of a 19-year old stripper (if you innocence is the right word) intrigues me. I must be just a little demented.
