I recently fell victim to this large fine of 2500.00 citation.  Has anyone been victim to this "citation".

Providers stay away from Brookfield, WI.

If you are asking for help/information, you should be more specific.

1)  Were you arrested, fingerprinted, and posted that amount as bail?

2)  Were you given an adult field release citation (similar to traffic ticket), given a court date, and told you could pay that amount to avoid going to court?

3)  If you have not already pleaded guilty, by appearing in court you may find the actual fine is less.

4)  The Town of Brookfield ordinances are available online (link below). A quick review of them does not reveal any provisions relating to escort licenses.  Perhaps there is a county ordinance with which you were charged.

5)  In an effort to curb prostitution, many local governments/states have established licensing requirements for masseuses/escorts and adult entertainers, sometimes with educational requirements that are costly.

6) Proving you don't have a license is alot easier than proving you were engaged in prostitution.

I scheduled appt. with man who turned out to be LE.  Let him into my room.  Another LE knocks on door, let him in and all of a sudden I have like 5 LE in my room.  They of course start asking if I have drugs in room.  As if I would do his kind of work for drugs.  They don't understand how an educated woman wants to do this for a living.

Anyhow, the take it upon themselves to take photos with their digital camera and explain what is happening. The tell me I am escorting without an escort license and that is illegal in Brookfield, WI. They tell me the fine for the citation will be 2,500.00.

They show me my ad from internet.  They take me to PD and start to question me.  I probably gave a bit to much info and should not have said anything.  Luckily I did well in for the 2 days I was visiting.  I was able to pay the fine for citation "Escorting without license".  They did fingerprint and photograph me so I am not sure if I was indeed arrested and given a citation.

On citation, it says I do have to appear in court.  They kept my condoms and pad of paper where I was keeping track of calls and appts.  I would like my things back.  I am afraid to show up at court and claim my things.  After all they are my belongings.

Any suggestions?

It is best to supply an email address when you want detailed information.  Some of the specifics may be of little benefit to others and it is probably better to carry on the exchange in private.

However, for the benefit of others reading this:

As has been said repeatedly on this board, the less you say the better.  It is rare that answering LE questions will result in a suspect not being charged.

It appears you are confused about your current status in the criminal process.  If you already paid a fine, then normally there would be no further court appearance.  Perhaps you paid bail (the purpose of which is to increase the chance that you will make your court appearances), but then you should have a bail receipt.

Property seized by police usually is returned only after a case is concluded.  Normally a written order must be submitted to the judge ordering the police to return seized property; the defendant would then take the order to the police.

To repeat:  I suggest you supply an email address.  Even though you have an "envelope icon" next to your name which presumably indicates you can receive PM's here, I use an alias to post on this board, so you cannot send me a PM.  Even when a guy has the envelope icon, he cannot use the PM feature during times he is not a VIP.
