If anyone has successfully beaten a rap using the argument, I'd like to hear it; but let's face it:  If you get busted, even if you get acquitted, you're still screwed for the publicity and the legal fees.

Instead of trying to come up with ways to circumvent the law, try circumventing LE by carefully screening, etc.

This did happen. An escort told me the police let her go after having sex with the cops.  The detective told her that the escort fee the officer paid was not enough to make an arrest.  Since there was no agreement for sex for money, there was no probable cause to arrest her.

Yes, it must be legal.  The reason why the grey area exists is because there is no real challenges to the laws.  The lawyers do not raise these issues.


Law is an art. The writing on law books are just scare tactics.  You can look at the law at many different ways. that why we have common law. That why Jews form commentary on the Torah. If the law is how the judges want the art to be, Abe Lincoln will not able to excel in the practice of law.

An example is sugar relationship. The prostitution statutes may not apply because money is exchanged in the context of a relationship.  It may be constitutionally protected as a form of intimate relationship. Since no bust on sugar daddies, and no real challenges to the law, then grey areas remain.
