The only two times I've ever felt at legal  risk (well, at least since I stopped trolling for street walkers) were when I answered Craig's List adds for a coulple of brothels that didn't screen and advertised way too much.  Don't be lazy, don't be greedy and don't be stupid.

Idle curiosity here: a quote from a vice cop on SpikeTV's "Real Vice Cops Uncut" (I don't see the relevance of the cops' penis configuration...)

"There's not really any way to be an escort, and not be arrested."

Ladies, what's your experience?  Opinion?

BTW, I've noticed quite an increase in screening, especially over the last 2 to 4 months or so.  Perhaps that change is particular to the San Francisco Bay area.

Just a heads up, you may want to read the Phoenix board..

That LE is hopelessly outnumbered and understaffed?

That there is no way they can catch every woman in every hotel room who is charging for sex?

That there is almost no way to detect a low profile discrete provider who screens well and operates discretely?

That all they can really do is go after the streetwalkers or the idiot's who advertise thirty times a day on Craig's List, see guys without screening them and have a parade of strangers knocking on their motel room door every thirty to sixty minutes?

Nah, they would, never say that....

those of us who stay a step above CL should remain reasonably secure.

If everyone here stuck strictly to the "rules" the chances of arrest would be almost noexistent.

Well Said BOSTONGUY

I have been arrested once and that was the first week I started escorting and haven't been since... I remember it like it was yesterday,lol... It was March Madness Final Four weekend in 07 and a guy called me from the Marriott Marquis downtown Atlanta and basically offered more than what I was asking and I took the bait and didn't know anything about screening and was asking questions that really didn't prove anything (i.e.-like asking if he was a cop)... Classic example of being greedy and taking too much of a risk...  My advice screen, have healthy respect for LE, develop regular friends/relationships, and trust your gut... That day my gut was telling me to go home, but I stuck it out and went up to the room (bad decision)
