A friend called a provider, wanted to schedule with her, it was quick call, he provided screening info...name, phone number, employment.  She told him to call her when he got to town, and stated her rate of $$$$.00

Her rates were out of his budget, so five minutes later he called her back and said Thank You, but Im afraid I wont be able to see you.

She proceeds to tell him that he needs to send her the fee of $$$$.00 because she now has his info and she can really fuck up his life...

Any thoughts anyone?

Depending on the state, its legal for you to record the conversation.  Then bring it to a lawyer, it wll cost several hundred for the legal fee, or go to a law clinic.  Get a recording, thats a serious offense to blackmail.  You could turn her in a second. Depending on the state, you may have done nothing illegal anyway, and you do have the option of a criminal complaint.

What guy is going to want to see her now if this is the reputation she gets?

Just ignore her and may be warn fellow hobbyists. There is little she can do without harming herself.

All of that is what I told him, he made two call from his cell phone within a 5-7 minute time frame, no email, no landline calls.  He did absolutely nothing wrong on his part and if she were to follow through with threats, he could be the one that gives her a bad day.

This brings me to a question I've always had, is it illegal to call an escort for companionship, and by that I mean a date for a wedding or something where a single guy might just want to pay a beautiful woman to go with him? If its not illegal, than so what. Who's she going to call? I wouldnt be concerned at all.

She's just trying to get away with typical ghetto shit and intimidate your friend of the off chance that he's a sucker.

Just ignore her and if she hasn't gone away by now, drop a dime on her.  There is no excuse for that, it gives all legit escorts a bad name.

Change your voice mail outgoing greetings, etc so that there is no indication of your real name.  Prevent her from learning your real name.

Do nothing, as the threat was just to teach you a lesson about canceling on her.  Warn others about her on boards like this one. Write a review.
