Would this likely happen?

I just received a phone call from a regular client of mine.  He told me that after he left my incall last week, the cops pulled him over about 3 blocks away and asked what he was doing at my place.  He told them he was visiting a friend.  They then mentioned that they had gotten a report of possible prostitution going on, so were checking.  Now, I don't know this client that well..... but twice before when he was with me, he mentioned busts that he'd heard about......and just said for me to be careful.  I'm not sure if this guy is making this up, or if the cops really did pull him over.  In the meantime I am COOLING IT!........ But how long should I let this affect my business?  What other things should I do at this point?  Thanks in advance!

I'm going to start by saying that you should trust your gut here and do what you feel is right and makes you feel safe.  That being said I think your client is full of it. If that where me I would have been on the phone to the provider as soon as I drove away from LE. I can't really see LE doing this after the fact either. As I said, you need to do what feels right here, just offering my 2 cents.

Cool it.  The client's comments sound suspicious so you should never see him again nor answer any of his calls.  If your client is a cop or confidential informant, he may have engaged in illicit conduct which would compromise a criminal case.  He did describe a common police tactic when they investigate drug activity so you should not use that incall location ever again.

I agree.  Go with your gut. I  don't know that I'd see the fellow again.  Sounds like he might get some jollies out of unraveling you... and that's just not cool.  Also maybe lay low and just do outcall to hotels for a while.  Or move.  Probably not a good idea to get stuck in a lease for your incall location... or maybe have a place that's low enough rent that if you need to bail you just cut your losses.  Always been one of my concerns that a nosy neighbor might report.  Be careful.  Go with your gut.

If neighbors are complaining, officers will either do a knock and talk to get you to make an admission or they could get a search warrant if other clients have been pulled over and snitched on you without your knowledge.  Bottom line-they'd need to stake out your place and catch you with a client if they  had a warrant.  It's rare but happens especially if the neighborhood is upscale.

Hi, I agree with Bostonguy, this is probably a prank.  But you don't want to guess wrong.

There are several tip offs though.  The fact that the guy waited a week to call.  Like Boston said, most guys would have called you 5 min later.

Cops don't stop people and tip them off to an ongoing investigation.

They also don't usually do major investigations for misdemeanors.  To stake you out would require excessive manpower. They would just call you, send in a decoy, pop you and move on.

The other thing here is this guys obsession with getting busted.  This actually sounds like a possible "fantasy" he's building.

Have you seen any kind of unusual activity around your house?  Any problems with neighbors?  Is your location discrete or can everyone see who comes and goes?

If you don't see anything that doesn't mean it isn't there, but this really sounds like someone trying to mindf**k you.

Hugs,
TS Jamie

Cops do indeed stop clients leaving locations where prostitution is suspected and pump them for info.  To read my own experience with this tactic, do a search on my posts in this "Legal Corner" section for the one I recently wrote entitled "re:A question that police can or canot do."

That said, it does sound strange that he would wait a week to tell you, and it also sounds strange if it had gone down as he said it did, that the cops weren't already beating down your door.  I think he's just messing with your head, for whatever reason.

That said, if you ever have a strong reason to suspect the cops are on to you, move your operation immediately.  You should probably move from time to time anyway, as a precaution.  The longer you stay in one place, the more vulnerable you are to nosy neighbors, competing providers and disgruntled clients, all of whom can (and do) give tips to LE.  Try to stay a step or two ahead.

Okay so this is the first time I have read this board but i was browsing and came across this post.
It really hits home.  I hate to tell you I was in a similar situation in 2005.  I had this gentlemen I saw on a regular basis, quite a bit more than others.  I did not think anything about seeing him.
Long story short....  I did not find out until a year later it was this exact gentleman was the  "confidential informant". A whole year goes by until I get indited, I put all the pieces together then from the affidavit.  Really Scary.  Please take everyones advice and go with your gut.....

Wow!  I stand corrected.  Did they actually indict you long after the fact for a misdemeanor based on the heresey of an "informant?" Did they get a conviction?

And WHY did they do to such effort?

That could change the whole face of dating.

My first experience in the hobby. Saw a well reviewed provider at her incall motel where apparently she had been doing business for several days. My spider sense was tingling when I arrived but I ignored it thinking that I was just nervous because it was the first time. Place was staked out and when I left got pulled over by two cop cars who wanted to know what I was doing there. They handeled me with great skill playing to my fears of ruining my career and having to explain what I was doing to my significant other. I caved and admitted to oral sex. She got busted I was called to testify. Cost me boat load for a lawyer, she got off because the cops made a mistake. Lesson learned, Don't admit anything to cops. They can harass you but unless they were in the room with you they can't prove you did anything wrong. Don't use the same incall location for more than a day or two, and if it feels wrong bail out.
