An asian agency in Pasadena that I have used for the past year was recently busted by LE. Is there any potential problems for the the clients or will the madam and girls take all the heat?
Anything I need to do?
On occasion LE calls clients at home in order to throw a scare into them. Does the AMP have that kind of personal info on you? Most just take cash and never ask your name. If they do have a log book you have to sign (Some towns insist that they do that.) Just sign it John Doe at 123 Fake Street, Anytown USA. If they ask to see a driver's license, then I say "good day" and leave.
The existence of your name in their files is insufficient to establish any kind of guilt, but that doesn't stop them from doing their BS tactics.
If you do get a call from LE, just say that you have nothing to say about it. (Do not lie and say you were never there, or similar line.)
If they ask you to come down and answer questions, tell them you plan to call your lawyer and ask him to be there with you. Most likely LE will not waste their time with you when they see you are lawyering up.
Good luck with this.
(still not a lawyer)
Mr Fisher is correct. I'd just go a half step further and tell the cops that I was NOT coming down to talk to them, I have nothing to say to them with or without my lawyer present and suggest that any further contact at my home or place of business would be considered harrassment and perhaps grounds for lawsuit. Get a warrant or leave me alone!
The police have no power to command you to appear anyplace withour a warrant and certainly not be telephone call.

The scene where the gruff cop says: "OK, you're coming downtown with me for questioning." is just a lot of hooey?
since they have deprived you of your liberty to leave. That woud be followed by some sort of Miranda warning before any form of interrogation is conducted. It is important to note that they don't have to mirandize you until they ask you a question, anything you say before they interrogate you would fall under the confession rules and you can't claim they didn't read you your rights.
If you ask Can I leave now and they say no consider yourself under arrest. The only thing you should say is I want a lawyer, what are my rights and I would like to execute my right to remain silent. Once you have lawyered up the questioning should stop until your lawyer is present.
Now they can arrest you and decide to not press any charges. Because it didn't go to court there will be no public record and in most places it is on the police department's record. No non law enforcement has access to that. Plus no private company can use or even ask you about a non conviction against you. If a case does not go to court then there are no public records to go into private data bases that are used for background checks.
Not a lawyer but have had some legal training while in the Navy
LE want to question you or get you to make voluntary statements... trying to explain the unexplainable... and then use those statements against you. All before the arrest.
Generally, all you must give is name & DOB, address where you can be reached. At this point, turn the tables by asking a question like "Did I do something wrong?" followed with "Am I free to go?" Either you are free to go or you are being detained. Be wary of being allowed to leave & then (when you let your gard down) being asked another question, trying to get around your stated desire to leave.
It does not pertain to the hobby but I know what I am talking about.

I spend so much time at motels that I'm owed a pension by some of them.
.. but my knowledge of the law tells me that the police may not detain you for more than an hour (last I heard) without charging you with something.
'Taking you downtown for questioning' against your will is, I believe, a thing of the past and the movies - at least in Nevada, your experience may vary!!!
Never forget that most of us can't walk a city block without violating some piss-ant law that is usually never enforced but an officer CAN use it to arrest you and even take you to jail - never mind the judge is going to throw it out in the morning. But this assumes you are in contact with the officer to begin with.
Being called and told to come to the police station for questioning is a joke. First of all you have no idea the person on the other end of the phone is actually LE ('May I see your badge and ID, please?') and I am SURE they have no authority to command you to appear via telephone. Without a warrant or without them witnessing you commit a crime, they can't take you in either.
All of the above assumes somewhat of a perfect world and dealing with ethical cops.

I've not kept up but in my state they could hoold a subject for 36 hours if LEO can not confirm your idenity or if he has suspictions that you have given a false ID.
The schmuck who said "I don't have to give yas nothin' copper!" in his best theartic tone, ended in the back of a cruiser with shiny braclets on. About the time the cruiser got to the station, the guy decided to produce his ID.
I believe you DO (at least here) have to idenitify yourself (bot necessarily DL ubless you were driving.)
Outside of identifying youself, STFU. Everything you say... innocent conversation even... becomes something LE i trainded to twist into somthing incrimininating.

"Ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?"
That's all it took to haul your ass in back then.
I hope many providers read this thread because what you say is so true. This situation is similar to providers that ask for your personal information as a screening process. Ladies if you get caught and my name and address is in your file, Even though LE may not have any grounds to prosecute me, They can still harass and make my life miserable. I guarantee you I have more to loose than you. please respect discretion.
We don't have as much to lose as you? Right. We don't have families, or other businesses or careers or friends or any of that like the revered hobbyist! What a stupid thing to say.
and look at this from a statistical POV.
We have much more to loose and by percentage hobbyist's have real jobs and assets which most providers do not.
Of the hobbyists I know, 95% are home owners with jobs. Of the providers I know, maybe 10% own homes and maybe 30% have real jobs.
Where we are close to equal is family, but again I don't know of many hobbyists who's family knows about the hobby. I do know that a higher percentage of provider's families know what they are doing.
Worst case scenario is if the local press/news media get ahold of this list. They love to report on respectable or prominent middle aged dudes engaged in prostitution. This happened earlier this yr in Minneapolis. Check "Minneapolis Nice Guys" in prior posts or google it. I think a pretty large client list was also obtained by the local news media in an Arizona agency bust and the list can be seen on the web (smoking gun website). I wouldnt use an agency since they generally couldnt give a rats ass about revealing your information if theyre busted and the client info also becomes evidence.
are you talking about crystal chan? if so do they even keep track of your info or just take your money without even asking gfor name
