She was lucky as this LE seemed to have bigger fish in mind than her, and she managed to get off with just a ticket by cooperating. Normally cooperating only seals the deal, but in her case, she was pretty well busted as it was.
Screening is not mentioned here but obivously, that's what was missing from her business plan. Her list of clientel is for only the very daring, in my opinion.
Still, I hope this has the effect of making us play safe.
1) The local LEO seems to keep track of who worked/works for who. 2) They where really interested in her "friend" that she worked for. 3) Credit Card Fraud.
The friend is/was probably up to his neck in some sort of fraud/scam that imploded, he dropped off the radar, and now the LEs are shaking down known acquaintances.
One thing that may also suck for her, is if the LE knew about her legit business ventures, they may have flagged those to the IRS or flagged her for a audit.
So many providers (among others) think they can dismiss tax laws with impunity.
They are in for a very rude awakening if they get busted and suddenly the IRS is wondering where the money for the Escalade came from on your part time secretary's pay.
Remember: Prostitution is normally a misdeamenor and you pay a fine and get sent home.
Tax evasion is a serious felony where you can not only do hard time but end up in the poor house when the IRS gets done with you.
Talk to anyone who has dealt with them, they are not very friendly.

One thing that jumped out at me was LE calling her day job and telling them she had been cited. An attorney would need to comment on this but, while misdemeanor citations are probably matters of public record, LE calling someone and telling them one has been issued may possibly go over a line and open the department and the officer making the call to civil action. There is a difference between prosecution and persecution. I think they crossed the line.
