Prostitution hasn't been banned by Canadian federal law for over a hundred years.  However, that doesn't mean that it is anything goes, and totally risk free!!!  Local jurisdictions can regulate, zone, and license the hobby.  And the manner in which you engage an escort can get you in trouble.

For the most part, the laws are used to discourage streetwalkers.  Soliciting a prostitute in a Public place is illegal.  Discussing rates and services in a Private place is legal.  Of course Public advertising is protected free speech.
