Busted for solicitation in San Diego

I was busted by a female cop in a hotel in Carlsbad. I've interviewed several attorneys in the area. All of them have said that it is very likely that the DA would go for the plea bargain and reduce it to something like "disturbing the peace".

At the arraignment, the DA refused to plea bargain. Their word to my public defender was that Carlsbad is trying to send a message. I guess that the rest of the San Diego county is more lenient except for Carlsbad. This seems unusual.

Is the DA just trying to scare me? I have no prior record with LE. Is it likely that the DA will go through with the jury trial and try their best to get me convicted with the full sentence of solicitation?

If anyone has any knowledge of the trend in San Diego, I would greatly appreciate it. You can PM me directly if your info is sensitive.

Did you meet the female on the street, and then go to the room, or did you arrange to meet her at the hotel?  There is a big difference in regards to the enforcement policy.

What is the quality of the media on which they have the quid pro quo?  have you had your attorney look/listen to it?  You should and asap.  When's the next hearing?  Who assked for a jury trial?

The first guys you talked to are generally correct.  The other charge they plead to is trespass which is what I try to negotiate.

Just FYI---many people believe that if they ask a police officer if they are a police officer that the officer must answer honestly.  That is not true.  They can state that they are not a police officer.

Been through the same thing.  Email me at [email protected]
I'll explain how my attorney got me off.

I got busted in 1996 and I am looking for the name and phone number of an attorney that I can use to have it taken off of my record.

You may e-mail the name to [email protected]

That you!

first of all
interview the BEST and most expensive attorney in the city that you got arrested in. Also make sure that he has been practicing in that city for a number of years and is well respected.
This will make all the difference in the world. Why?
Because he will KNOW the DA's and the judges and will be able to manipultate the system in your favor. For example, if he knows one particular DA or judge (or both hopefully) in one department of the court house, he will have them move your case in the hands of that DA and judge.  Trust what I'm saying and not the attorneys that are responding here in an attempt to gain your business.
