Thanks for all of the advice. I have not heard anything from anyone. I did speak with an attorny who put me in touch with a friend who is an FBI agent. I met with him off the record and we shall see what happens. He would love to bust him. 300 people, 500 per blackmail; puts this guy into RICO status and that is nothing to joke around with...We shall see.
There is no such thing as talking to the FBI off the record. If you advise the FBI of a crime, especially one that is in progress, they have to take appropriate action or they will get burned. It is considered serious misconduct and a violation of the law for an FBI agent to have knowledge of a crime, or a crime in progress and do nothing.
Second, blackmail or extortion is not a Federal crime unless it is occurring, or has occurred in more than one state. If an FBI agent is aware of a crime wherein the FBI does not have jurisdiction the agent is required by law to report the information to his/her supervisor who will ensure the information is forward to the proper law enforcement agency without delay.
Can you imagine what would happen to an FBI agent if he had knowledge of an ongoing crime and withheld the information and someone was murdered or seriously injured?
Do you have any idea what RICO means? Please explain how this "incident" would qualify for RICO enforcement and prosecution.
and I respect your knowledge, but you are going off the wrong trail talking about what would happen to the FBI agent and any idea of what RICO means!!! The guy has been a wreck since he rec'd this email and he is just giving us a update on what has transpired since he first brought this to our attention. It's not important that he knows what RICO means. Maybe if you were in his shoes you would be more understanding, I certainly hope so.
