First Craig's List Fell-- Will BackPage be the next to Fall? And then who?
McKenna, the Washington State DA was instrumental in getting Craig's List to vacate its prominence as a “lister” of illegal services, now he has his eye on its successor. Using the hammer of child prostitution to batter the gates open, McKenna will no doubt ride this horse to national prominence. When will he set his sight on the next dominos in line?
These two cites give McKenna's challenge and Backpage’s response
Thanks for posting this very interesting link on how the sherrif's think. The "coercion" of most adult women to commit prostitution is a social phenomena that is driven by nature. Man's desire to have sex is simply much stronger than a woman's. Marriage turns out to be merely legalized prostitution because married men feel entitled to have sex on a repeated and regular basis, simply because they bought the license and pledged half their assets, regardless of whether or not their sexual skill and competence level is sufficient to inspire their wives to feel passionate about them. If the woman refuses to have sex, the man is merely her slave, as he did not get what he bargained for out of the deal of marriage.
Wonder how much sherrif's would care about this issue if those promoting prostitution took a more conservative approach, and used subtle innuendo to entice business, instead of dressing adults up as minors to lure. Is the blatant nature of pandering pandering to those who are afraid of getting ripped off for $100, in the same manner they got ripped off by marriage. Is fear to blame for the human sexual condition?
The only thing that will reverse the detrimental effects of ignorance is education. And nobody is more qualified to educate men with regard to sex than a prostitute who loves her work. It is the unconstitutionally broad and over reaching laws against prostitution that are to blame for the high divorce rate in this country.
Interesting that WAAG has refused to crack down on a certain porn company in WA that has been engaged in sending unsolicited porn to millions of Yahoo and MSN IM users since 2004. I get 2-4 unsolicited solicitations a day from them and contacted McKenna's consumer affairs dept.
