Another mess in Florida

Osceola County, FL (Kissimmee)...the police were out in full force this July 4th weekend.  Starting July 2nd the sting took place.

Close to 40 girls and drivers were busted.

The police have now rented an apartment and luring women from all over.  From Gainesville, Tampa and St. Petersburg....

I got stung this time, just for showing up.  No money exchanged, no talk or sex.  I was just there.

One of the girls never even made it to the front door, she changed her mind.  The police ran out of the apartment asking her what she was there for.  She said "I have the wrong address", they busted her!

Another dropped someone off, was waiting in her car and they busted her as well.  Same charge Prostitution.

During first appearance, there were 23 girls and 3 men charged with solicition.  And we were the 1st group.

They were not releasing ROR and didn't lower any bail.  There are 2 Asian women who barely speak English still in lock up.  I feel sorry for them... here for 1 day to work massage.

This is my 2nd time being busted.  The same cops got me both times.  Different location and decoy, but the same vice group.  They were laughing at me.  "Got you again"!

Looking for drug dealers.  Why can't the police get off their lazy asses and do their jobs.  They want drug dealers, go find them on the street.  Leave girls alone that are just trying to make ends meet.

released for lack of probable cause. Surely LE must have something more than "just showing up" at the site of a sting for a lawful arrest.

There was a similar post on the Boston board a few months ago about LE arresting people just for showing up. These officers have not been properly trained.

On the other hand, if LE has evidence of an email exchange giving the time/location to people who "just showed up," that would probably be enough to sustain an arrest warrant.  But if Florida limits warrantless misdemeanor arrests to those committed in the presence of the arresting officer, I don't think the arrests can be upheld just for showing up.

There were plenty of the street walkers there.  They must figure the prostitutes are an easier target.  Honestly though that whole county needs to be cleaned up.  That's why I don't live there anymore.  Another reason is they know alot of the cases won't go to trial, most people will take a plea deal thats why they don't need concrete evidence.  Oh to be rich and be able to actually fight your case....how nice it must be.  But seriously though, I'm sorry.  I hope they're easy on you!

If this is your second arrest you obviously didn't learn anything the first time you were arrested.  I cannot understand for the life of me why a provider would respond to meet a client whether it's in his hotel, home or whatever.

When are you girls going to learn that the safest way to operate is to use motels/hotels and to get the room yourself. If the provider gets the room then there is very little chance LE will respond to her room.  LE likes to run stings where they can make lots of arrests with little effort, and they are in total control.

I read thousands of arrest reports when I worked for a criminal defense law firm.  I wouldn't even venture to guess how many prostitution arrest reports I read.  All of the prostitution arrests were either street walkers, stings or where someone filed a complaint with the PD and they investigated the complaint.  I never read a single prostitution arrest report where LE went to a motel/hotel and arrested a single provider in the room that she had rented.  I am not saying it doesn't happen, I am saying I never read an arrest report when it was done.

Avoiding arrest and dangerous situations is not that difficult if you just use a little common sense.  The guys have it easier since they can stick to well reviewed providers.  The girls on the other hand don't have that tool since there are no reviews on the guys.  Screening is a step in the right direction but screening is worthless if you go to a client's motel/hotel room or home.  However, if you screen and then have the client meet you at a motel/hotel and you don't tell him the room number until he arrives, you have pretty much ruled out LE.  You still have to worry about a predator, but you are still better off in a motel/hotel if the client turns out to be dangerous than you would be in his home or your home.

The best strategy is to use a motel that has a coffee shop or a restaurant next door, or close by.  Have the client meet you in the coffee shop instead of the motel room.  Don't get the motel room until after you meet the client. You can pretty much tell if you want to be alone in a room with the man who is sitting across the table from you.  That is a decision you would want to make in the coffee shop not in the motel room.  If the client is too weird, excuse yourself to the ladies room and then split. If you feel comfortable with the client, tell him you are going to the room and will call him when you get there and give him the room number.  Check in to the motel, and then call him from the motel.

LE wouldn't expend that much time and effort to make a single arrest.  Arresting prostitutes is not the same as arresting someone wanted for a real crime. If LE is looking for someone who committed a robbery then they are looking for a specific individual.  When they set up a sting to arrest people for prostitution, it doesn't matter who shows up and who doesn't because no one committed a crime until they arrive and commit the violation. They make a certain number of arrests and then shut down the operation.  If they plan on making 25 arrests and 100 people call and they arrest 25 who show up they don't figure 75 got away: They feel they made their goal for the day. I am sure LE would like to arrest everyone who committed an armed robbery but I am also sure they have no desire to arrest every man and woman who paid for sex or got paid for sex.

Hopefully you won't have to do jail time being that this is your second arrest.  If you plan on staying in this business you are going to have to be more careful. Work smart and play safe.

...that meeting the "client" at a coffee shop prior to doing the deed is a screening tool.  Many gals have been busted this way.  As a matter of fact, last year one very well-known escort was busted after meeting first with the "client."  I am not trying to upset Balboa, but I also don't want providers who aren't on the safety boards to read what he said and take it for the truth, then wind up getting busted.  Ladies if you're not already acquainted with the ladies safety boards, become so.  There is a ton of info there, including from ladies who have been busted.  It is invaluable info that will help you to keep as safe as possible.  Again, please note that LE will meet you first to put your mind at ease.  Then, come the handcuffs.  They have nothing better to do.  Plus, they love the benefit of grabbing a donut at the coffeeshop while you're meeting them.

Also, 50% of busts happen at escorts' incalls.  Read the safety boards.  Educate yourself.  LE is more than happy to come to your incall.

Asking a "client" if he's a cop means nothing.  They are allowed to lie.

Having them touch you means nothing.  They are allowed to touch you.

Many gals have been busted after giving the cop a BJ.

The ONLY way to protect yourself is to reference and verify the f*ck out of potential clients, never let your guard down, and never let greed get the best of you.

Also, write to [email protected] and ask to be admitted to the Providers Only board.

TBD also has a ladies board and client review database.

Many local message boards have provider only forums, as well.

It was in the OC register late last year. Also in that story they recounted how many girls were busted at their incall. Incall, outcall, meet out, you can be busted anywhere.

You need to know WHO you are seeing, you need to find ways to do that. Meeting out in public is not a substitute for knowing  who you are seeing.

cathyb7285 reads

See, finally, someone else has verified that my OC nitmare( illegal arrest of a regular lady) is plausible.

thank you.

LE & DA will say anything no matter how innocent has a 647(b) meaning

for example using "possesion of a cell phone & condom as evidence"

that paltry evidence can also be the same exact items found with "any single person"   & not exclusive to prostitutes

Someone might actually believe you.

Unless you have first hand knowledge or a reliable source of information then you are part of the rumor mill, and the rumor mill is a big part of the problem.

Meeting someone at a coffee shop is not a violation of the law.  Common sense dictates that a face to face meeting with someone in a public place is safer than meeting that person for the first time when he walks through your door. It is a safety precaution but certainly not the only means to screen a client.

You talk about what LE will do and what they won't do, but do you have any first hand knowledge or did you hear it from "a friend" or some other unreliable source?

You stated "Also, 50% of busts happen at escorts' incalls.  Read the safety boards.  Educate yourself.  LE is more than happy to come to your incall."  Where did you come up with that statistic?  The fact is most providers are arrested when they do outcalls because that is how LE conducts stings.

Who said anything regarding "Asking a "client" if he's a cop means nothing.  They are allowed to lie. Having them touch you means nothing.  They are allowed to touch you. Many gals have been busted after giving the cop a BJ."  You must be responding to someone else because I never made mention of any of those factors.

The difference between you and me if very simple.  I worked for a criminal defense law firm where I prepared cases for trial.  Many of those cases were for prostitution charges.  Preparing for trial requires reading all the reports related to the arrest and subsequent filings; preparing pre-trial motions; selecting witnesses and preparing questions for cross examining the prosecution's witnesses.  Believe me, other than being at the scene, there is no better way to understand what happens regarding arrests.

I also read all the arrest reports that were used to file complaints in both the felony and misdemeanor arraignment courts.  In other words if someone was arrested for prostitution and the case was filed by the district attorney I read the report.  Every arrest report I read where the charge was for prostitution was either a sting, a street walker or on rare occasions LE responding to a specific complaint.  I never read one where LE decided to go after a particular provider and went to her incall.  I am not saying it isn't possible, I am saying it never happened in the judicial district where I worked.

Laws related to prostitution vary from state to state and the enforcement of those laws varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. I am familiar with the laws in California and how those laws are applied in a the judicial district where I worked.  I cannot comment on how anti-prostitution laws are applied in other states and other jurisdictions.

I have heard all kinds of stories about how people have been arrested and what LE can and cannot do but I would never post that information or pass it along in anyway unless I could substantiate its authenticity.

You on the other hand, throw out a slew of disjointed slag that you probably either heard from someone else or fabricated yourself.  If you can't verify the story, don't pass it along because relating a lie makes you a liar as well.  If you are trying to get attention and get your website noticed there are other ways to do it besides throwing out reckless information that could get someone into trouble.

GaGambler4667 reads

I can speak from personal experience that it does happen. I was at an incall location run by a friend of mine when it was busted. They did indeed send an undercover cop to the location and busted two providers along with my friend. Not to mention the fact that they tried to intidate me into incriminating myself so they could arrest me too. I was full clothed and in no mood to waive my rights so they let me go, but my point remains it does happen.

I will grant you that an incall location is much safer for the ladies, but nothing is foolproof. Conversely, outcall is much safer for the hobbyist for the exact same reasons you mention. So it comes down to, who's safety is more important? You really can't have it both ways.

I didn't suggest that busts don't happen at incalls. The point I was trying to make: The safest way for a provider to operate is for her to get the motel/hotel room herself and have the hobbyists come to her. She should only use the room for one day then move on.  I realize there is a greater risk for the hobbyist than there is for the provider using this type of arrangement.  However, if the hobbyist is careful and only arranges appointments with well reviewed, established providers then his risk is significantly reduced.

As far as risk factors go, there is no question that going to a motel/hotel to meet a provider who had an ad on some place like Craig's List and has no reviews is as dangerous as hitting on a street walker because that is how LE operates stings.

Providers using an apartment or another type of residence for incall is risky because of nosey neighbors, disgruntled hobbyists and other providers who might report the location to LE.

There is a certain amount of risk in this hobby no matter what we do because we are violating the law.  However, the risk can be minimized if we use common sense and don't take unnecessary chances

GaGambler5729 reads

Your words

"I never read a single prostitution arrest report where LE went to a motel/hotel and arrested a single provider in the room that she had rented."

As I have stated repeatedly, I agree that incall is safer for the ladies, but outcall is safer for the gents. All I ask is that you don't exaggerate the facts in your attempt to make your argument.

immediately after she gave the 50% in call arrest statistic:

"You stated "Also, 50% of busts happen at escorts' incalls.  Read the safety boards.  Educate yourself.  LE is more than happy to come to your incall."  Where did you come up with that statistic?  The fact is most providers are arrested when they do outcalls because that is how LE conducts stings."

And he clearly acknowledged that in call arrests do happen. And the passage you quote simply is his personal experience -we have to accept as true that he never read an incall arrest report.

So, while I have no personal knowledge as to the breakdown, I see "no exaggeration" of the facts on this at all.

GaGambler7924 reads

I you are going to interject yourself here, I suggest you get your facts straight.

His post suggests that incall arrests are virtually unheard of, I called him on that claim with personal experience to the contrary.

Suggesting that meeting a "client" first at a coffeeshop is a method of screening against LE is dangerous rhetoric.

As for your barb that I wrote my post for attention, well anyone who reads that will know who, exactly, is seeking attention.  I wrote it, so providers who are inexperienced or unfamiliar with the safety boards and their vast amount of first-hand accounts of LE encounters won't take your advice to heart, thus getting themselves into a pickle.

Ladies, join as many safety boards as you can and allot yourself a good amount of time each day to read them, absorb the info, and take it to heart.  It will save you.

You call the ladies safety boards a rumor mill!?!

Why would any provider risk her reputation by outing herself as being busted, unless it was true?  These first-hand accounts are invaluable to us and I applaud any escort who is brave enough to say, "Yah, I got busted and here's how they did it."  That's a selfless act of kindness.

Some people still amaze me.  You have all type of verification services like P411 and date-check, you have TER whitelists, you can request the client to submit references from other providers but yet you still go to a stranger hotel room and walk into a sting and you blame the police.  Get real.  Either yiu ae a crackhead yourself, or desperate for money or lazy yourself not to do the things I and the poster above mentioned.  Fordive the harshness but DAMN

jackie21435572 reads

I did verify....I asked 100 times if he was a cop.  "No, baby I'm not...just come see me it's all fine".

He had an employment verification from a very reputable cable company (sounds like a bright house).  The phone number googled to this cable company and when I called, it certainly WAS the cable company.  When I was finally able to reach the extension, I was told he worked there.

I looked up the property address in the Osceola County Property Appraiser's website and the house WAS in this guy's name.

NO emails were exchanged, only phone calls.  Even at one point I called him to tell him I had to go home.

"I forgot something", I said.  "Oh, I got you covered, don't worry".  No mention of condoms was made and I could have been talking about anything.  The police report said I called and asked him if he had condoms.  (A big fat lie).

Arriving at the house, the cable companies truck parked in front and everything looked fine.

Going inside, I looked through every nook and cranny of that place.  Cabinets, bathroom, closets and nothing seemed out of place.  There was unopened mail addressed to him at that address on the counter.  The only place I didn't look was upstairs.  He said his roommate's room was up there.  I started to go up and he distracted me.  I even got a driver license and ID card with his name and photo on it.  There even was work uniforms hanging in the damn closet.

The guy was NOT an informant either.

He asked how old I was, telling me what a pretty cougar I was...At this point a lot of flirting, but NO money exchanged, money was NOT even in site and NO mention of sex.

I asked him again if he was a cop and he said no.  Stop worrying, and just as those words came out of his mouth, the bastards swooped down the stairs and I was arrested.

What gets me, they never read me my rights. Which I do understand they don't have to.  But correct me if I'm wrong...after they detained me, if they DIDN'T read me my rights wouldn't anything AFTER that be inadmissible?  Reason I ask is, I sent a text message telling someone I got busted and they charged me with obstruction.

LE is getting slick, as you can see verification does not work.

I've now had 2 misdemeanor arrests, the 3rd is a felony and jail time....SOOOOO as of Thursday, July 2nd...I'M RETIRED!

not because you didn't screen well enough. There is a lot of information on these board and I will agree much of it is BS but some information can be very useful.  It also helps to use a little common sense and try to reason these things out.

Avoiding LE is not that difficult but you don't do it by screening. You do it by avoiding stings.  Currently the best way to avoid stings is by using motels/hotels that YOU rent.  Only use the room for a day then move on to another motel/hotel. If LE is running a sting they get the motel/hotel rooms and call lots of providers and invite the girls to their motel/hotel room.  The providers who show up get arrested, the ones who don't, don't;  It's that simple.  So if you get a call from LE they will tell you they are staying at a particular motel/hotel and ask you to do an outcall.  If you tell LE you only do incall, they will either decline or set up an appointment but never show.  They can arrest a provider about every 15 minutes at their sting location so why would they waste the time to go after one provider who only does incall?  LE wants to be in total control and walking into a motel room not knowing who is in the motel room is not total control.  In your case they were using a house, but the method they used was the same.

Back in the summer of 2004 I called a girl who had an ad on Craig's List.  She said she was doing incall at a motel and we set up an appointment.  She told me where the motel was located and asked me to call her for the room number when I arrived.  I arrived about an hour early and watched the motel from a shopping center parking lot across the street.  The motel was a two story building with rooms on one side facing the street.  I had a clear view of the rooms facing the street. I wasn't there more than 15 minutes when I saw a guy park in the motel parking lot and go to one of the motel rooms.  The door opened and he went inside. About 15 minutes later another guy did the same thing but the first guy never came out. I think it was after I saw a third guy go into the room I saw two marked police cars pull up and park on a side street next to the motel. The door of the room next to the room where the men entered opened and a cop in street clothes wearing a gun stepped out of the room followed by 5 men handcuffed and another cop at the rear of the group of handcuffed men.  They walked over to the police cars where they were placed inside the vehicles and the cars left.  It only took a few minutes from the time the motel door opened to when the marked police cars left with handcuffed men.

When it was time to call the "provider" for the room number, I just sat there and watched the motel.  There was a slight gap in the steady flow of men who responded.  I was there a little over an hour before I left.  I called the "providers" number the following day but there was no answer.  The ad also disappeared from CL the following day.

There was no LE stopping people on their way in or out of the motel asking them questions or any other BS like that. It was very simple and efficient, and if you weren't watching very closely you would have never seen it.

LE used to concentrate on street walkers until they all but disappeared due to the internet.  Right now they are operating stings because they yield the best results.  However, things change and who knows what they will be doing in the future.

ThePeopleRule5105 reads

asking a potential client if he is a cop does no good.  Police do not have to tell the truth "on the street".  They are under oath in court and then are supposed to tell the truth, but some people, including cops, violate that oath.

to lie to a potential suspect in the course of an investigation without the lie providing any kind of defense to the suspect if he or she acts in reliance on the lie and commits a crime.

So asking a client if he is LE really accomplishes nothing unless you believe you determine truthfulness by the way he answers.

Lilninotchka6248 reads

I believe they were trying to set girls up using this same scenario in the Sarasota area very recently. I might be wrong though.

Asking if he is a cop is kind of like asking him if he plans on ripping you off or killing you - of course he will lie about it.

Won't be long before they start setting up the incall only girls because there won't be any left doing outcalls.

what balboa7 is saying is basicly true ,I,ve been a provider for 25 years, & yes I,ve had cops come to my incall, & he was told to leave very sternly by me. as I knew he was a cop , & i didn,t want to play the Q&A game with him.as I,m sick of them treating providers like their pubic enemy no 1. he was very mad ,but oh well. & I showed up at the PD that day ,just to bug him. & screening is no good ,they get around it alot.the only thing that works for sure is your 6th sense.& going by past exp of what is normal on a call.

Jackie has no reason to make this up.
This is the malicious corruption  that is going on.

What is the deal with "possession/discussion of condoms" as evidence??? condoms only suggest "proof of being responsible"

Why not challenge that point?

cathyb6431 reads

So sorry Jackie that is just outrageous!!!!!!

I am wondering LE's logic of luring ladies from other jurisdictions and other counties for a measly prostitution arrest?

So why are they bringing people into their location to create a crime that would have never happened?

jackie21435404 reads

And guess what....not only did I not have condoms, I forgot them, no money was exchanged, neither of us took our clothes off and NO mention of sex.

I merely showed up, flirted with a young good looking man.

based on what you have written, sounds like you have a "hell of a case" & grounds for civil action

maybe you could find an ACE attorney to take this on
defense & sue their pants off.

I was reading about a lady with a criminal record thick as 2 phone bucks, that sued the cops for illegal prostitution arrest & search she was awarded $750,000.

I don't care if you have A PRIOR arrest, you broke no law from what I can see. To arrest for flirting
would then mean that any person that meets another should also get arrested regardless

what is next ,arrest for chatting in the checkout line at piggly wiggly

I just found out that alot of that crap can be stopped by reaporting it to the fbi.s public corruption sec, If they have sex with you or voilate your civil rights with false arrest.& they don,t care how many warrents you have or that your a provider.

years ago, when I had my illegal arrest , I made copies of the entire case LE report, my tiny G rated personal  the pretty picture of my face (the cop claimed I looked like a hooker so that is why he set me up)  I sent to ACLU & I got a call  by an attorny , He agreed LE made a huge mistake.
however, they only accept 1 case out of thousands & try to represent more group cases &  more serious injustices
IE: shooting an killing an unarmed teenager.  Which I totally understand.
His phone call really meant so much..

Spoke  with another girl that was arrested the same night as me.  She had just left her attorney's office.

In his preparation of her defense, the arresting officers have yet to provide the "video and audio tapes" they said they had.  Seems a bit strange they arrested 40 people and have no evidence to back it up.

I will be speaking with her attorney in the morning to find out what is up.

cathyb5220 reads

I agree Jackie.

Those bastards: If they had good evidence why are they not providing it right away to prove a strong case & get a quick plea?

also, an audio without video does not account to much.
Think of the commercials on TV, only  to hear the  sexy audio... Then  you see the image of someone washing their hair or eating a burger.

I am so glad you are getting an attorney, from what you have written it sounds like an illegal arrest.
good luck

OMG....listen to this....

I got copies of the arrest report today and they lied, lied, lied....how does a person defend themselves against cops that lie?

I see my attorney tomorrow, since it's my 2nd arrest he thinks my bond will be revoked.  Which means I will be in jail until my court date in October....I will be serving nearly 60 days in jail for a misdemeanor.

I haven't worked since my arrest.  I am sick all the time and I've become paranoid.  I was having lunch with a male friend the other day and found myself looking around for the police.

Thanks everyone for your advice.  If you don't hear from me after the 28th, you'll know I'm in jail.

Funny you mentioned the LE report full of lies:

I found an article about: "How to lie persuasly" please google those words.
I bet that cop , put a lot of detail about the meaningless points & was vague about the important points.

This gives the reader/listoner "false credibilty" hence, believable lies.

If you can get that article & match it to his report, this could be a good thing to prove he lied

Also,no matter how he tries to convulute your words, there is NO  violation?  they need to say here is the moment
the violation occurred. It sounds like they do not have that moment.

So the report is a weirdo dressing up & embilshing the truth & pretending to be an "expert". So you have a guy flirting with a lady & no real evidence.

clearly you are a sweet person that has class
I hope you can get your attorney to convince the Judge that you are not a flight risk & maybe at worst a ankle braclet instead of jail, all this for a measly solicitation arrest is a sin.

You are smart to keep a low profile, Can you get a job, volunteer work, enroll in a college class, anything?? it might help keep them from revoking bond? Ask your attorney if that might help?
I really think this is overboard & unfair.

search site: "how to spot a liar" OR "how to lie pesuasivly'

The article explains about  how a person writes lies & it explains how to catch & point out the lies, very interesting, I used it for my case The cops report demonstrated textbook "lying techniques"

My guess is the cop was very specific in throw away details:

something like:  Suspect arrived at 1301.56pm wearing red button blouse black skirt & black patent leather shoes then she solicited me"

who cares what second you arrived & your outfit, then vague about the actual alleged violation

You are so correct about the police reports being specific about non-issue related things.

I absolutely love the "lie" website.  Thanks!

jackie21435484 reads

Thank you for the article "How to lie persuasively".  I will be reading it as soon as I post this.

I have been doing some work for a relative, however she and her office are located in Miami.  We will see how this goes over with the judge.

As being a flight risk, I've been living in my home for 18 years now so don't think that will be a problem convincing the judge of that.

Its funny you mentioned college, etc...I have a B.A. degree, hold a Florida insurance license, owned a business for 7 years, that went under last year and that's when I started escorting.

I have been looking for over a year now for a job.  I have been volunteering at our local animal shelter for 10 years as well as 2 animal rescue groups...I currently am fostering 4 dogs and 5 cats that are looking for a new home.  I ran for political office, on the state level three times over the past 8 years.

I've been turned down for food stamps and medicaid.  I live on cereal and bread and can't get much needed high blood pressure medication.

I became an escort to survive.  As time went by, I realized that I enjoyed it.  I've had a string of bad luck and not sure what to do except take one day at a time.

cathyb5761 reads

That is wonderful Jackie.

You being a"homeowner for 18 years" is a good news, it would be unrealistic for someone with your background  & a homeowner to be a flight risk for such a milk-toast charge.
It also sounds like you have been a good productive person in society.  The volunteering is amazing

By putting someone like you in jail is a real waste & mean spirited & serves no purpose. Jail is for mean people not someone that either made a small mistake Or was involved in a misunderstanding.

It seems you can gather your certificates/diplomas etc as proof you are not this "hooker" that they are trying to portray.

It seems you have many good points that would work in your favor.

AAAWWW Thank you.

I had to come up with the retainer for the attorney.  I did (legally) and will be bringing it to him on Monday.  My arraignment is Tuesday...he said he will file the necessary documents and I won't even have to appear.

He advised me, the paperwork MAY not even get to the judge that day.  That perhaps the clerk will take care of the changes.  He does think the State will have a tough time convicting me.  No money exchanged, we didn't talk of sex and only flirted a bit.  Of course the police report said I asked about condoms, which I didn't.

Can't wait to see / hear the video and audio... that's if they can produce them.  Seems to me LE is losing the evidence because it doesn't back up the truth.
