I wish more feminists agreed with me on this point, many do but many do not. Societies that are sexually repressed see women as a threat and will restrict their rights in all sorts of horrible ways.

For what it is worth, Harry's stunt went over in the legislature about like a lead balloon. There is no motivation to 'fix what ain't broken.' Nobody will say so, but everyone knows that the fact that there are legal brothels in Nevada attracts many tourists and no one is going to do ANYTHING to deter tourism here while the economy is in the tank.
In some ways I would like to see something like this done ONLY in that it would get some monied interests involved in a court battle over the subject. It totally fails the logic check that a Senator who repeatedly not only backs a woman's right to choose to abort a baby AND make the public pay for it doesn't think that same woman has the same right to choose who she has sex with based on open payment. I have said before here that I didn't understand the constitutionality of a law that interfered with a private encounter between two adults.
Along those lines, I've observed a co-relation between the way a society treats prostitution and the way it treats its women.
That is, societies where prostitution is legal are far less repressive towards women than societies where it is illegal. Women have more rights in societies where prostitution is legal. Sorry, but dems da facts.

I try not to make it personal, but Harry Reid has always reminded me of the pervert uncle you feel obligated to invite to Thanksgiving dinner, but you don't dare leave him alone around your daughters.
