Planning a trip for early October.  Saw some references about some places where you should not stay due to LE (all Harrah's properties for instance).  Are there other places you should not stay?  What about Mirage/TI/MGM Grand, are they cool?  What about Hard Rock?  Thanks for any info. . . Looking forward to coming west.

Venetian, Bellagio, Wynn, Harrahs, Mirage, TI after 9pm and Orleans require room keys to enter the elevators. MGM does not. Don't know about Hard Rock.  This may not be a problem for some visitors but may be for others. I am sure that some other hotels do as well that I am unaware of and maybe someone can add to the list.

Hope that helps a bit. Have fun!

Don't know if all Harrahas' properties are to be avoided.  I've stayed at the TI, Tropicana and Luxor.  Had no problems.  The link, is to Cheepo Vegas.  Gives a thumbnail sketch of all of the resorts.  Good luck.

I typicall visit in early December.  Stayed at the Luxor in the pyramid once but was not impressed.  Thought it was overpriced.  Security did require you to show room keys.  Also stayed at the Excalibur a few times.  It's a nice, inexpensive place to stay.  Again, security required you to show room key.  Last few times I have stayed at the MGM.  Nice place and while there were "guards" stationed at the elevators, they did not require a show of keys to enter.

Can't wait to get back this year.

And as for the Hard Rock, it's not located on the strip and requires a short cab ride to get there.  Caters to the young crown from what I have been told.

Hard Rock checks room keys after a certain time too.  As Sara said, MGM doesn't generally, but if its a fight night or another big event, they do sometimes post security at the elevators.

I've predominantly stayed at the Paris hotel for the last 6 years(love the cocktail waitressess).  There is no security upon entering the elevators, but they do roam the hallways on each floor.  However, I've never seen them stop anyone.  (This may have changed in the last year).  Ballys, which provides good value and large rooms, has probably easier access... no security to be found.

The Hard Rock, like ExCalibur had security checks prior to entering the elevators.

which has the draconian policy of asking for photo ID at the guest elevators.  Hopefully it's staying just at Harrah's.

While some people might moan about security at the guest elevators, it's a rather nice service to keep nosy tourists and other ne'er-do-wells off the guest floors.  Makes it slightly difficult to get up to the room (either meet in a public place and walk together past security or have security call up to the room) but not a bad hassle for having a slight piece of mind.

Hard Rock requires room keys after 9 pm.  Not a lot of working girls at the Hard Rock.  Its just too hard to distinguish them because there are so many gorgeous women there.

Palm has lots of working girls at the bar.

This takes some advanced planning.  But it is the easiest way to get a provider up to your room when the hotel requires them to show room keys.

1)  upon check in request 2 copies of your room key.
2)  make arrangements with provider and tell her to pick up a copy of your roomkey with front desk or concierge
3) go to front desk and tell them that you lost your room key.  Have them REKEY your room and issue you a new room key.
4) leave one of the original room keys at concierge with instructions to release it to your provider.
5)  she arrives picks up room key, passes through security and arrives at your door.

The key won't open the lock so you don't have to worry about her using it when you are gone.  After the session, collect your room key. you have two "dummy" keys that you can use repeatedly during your stay.

When you arrange to have the provider pick up the key card, won;t she have to give her name and ID?

For the last few years, I've stayed at both the J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa (WAY of the strip, but worth it) and the Luxor. The Marriott has no security and your friend can come right up to your room. At the Luxor, the last few times I've been there, I've been in the towers, which require a room key to operate the elevators. Usually, I'll meet people at the valet parking area, but I've also seen someone who managed to get up the elevator without a key. She was pretty clever.

You mean she doesn't carry ID with "Bonnie the cum-slut" on it?  Hell, that's gonna present a problem.

Meal Ticket.  ID has never been the problem.  If you are concerned about it, you can have her just use part of her name like last name or middle name.  Worst case scenario, the concierge will call you to verify and you just verify.

My solution gets her a room key and access.  Particularly for repeat visits!

Meet the beautiful lady downstairs. Then take her to your room like a gentleman. Side benefit is seeing other men drooling over you foxy date.

While I don't always agree with Smarty about everything, I do with this one. I always offer to meet her downstairs and walk her up. They don't always take me up on the offer, but it's always there.

The NYNY is a nice hotel but they also post security at all the elevators after 8 or 9. Regardless where I stay, I always meet her at one of the bars for a quick drink and most good providers won't count this part as part of the agreed time unless you drag it out. Anyone heard anything about the Riviera?

What does yours say Acidom? :)~
I don't mind my clients knowing my real name since most of them just gave me all their work information. (LJ tells everybody her real name and it doesn't seem to cause her any problems.  Of course, everybody is afraid that she will kick their ass! LOL!) I just don't want the hotel to have my real name over and over again when I keep going to pick up keys from the front desk.

The Riv, Ballys and Paris don't have a sentry at the elevators. But like you I prefer to meet at the bar.

Right TMT, I was going to ask that same queation. Any time I have had to either  get a new key or get let in becasue I left my key in the room, I have had to show  ID. Any hotel that didn.t ask that I'd stay away from
