Yes, it has made it way obvious on some boards. (eom)

END OF MESSAGE

Has anyone else noticed that this new feature has made it easy to determine exactly how often the most frequent posters use aliases?

No,why would you say that ??

I always post using my real handle ..... so the stats are showing exactly how many posts I made as cindyspice............. if you want and have the time you can go back and count ;-)

it offers proof that you never use aliases, as is the case for some of us. By the way, there is no need to count the posts. Just do a "search messages" using the author name and it gives you the post count for the number of days you enter.

Maybe I am having a blond moment , or maybe it is too early , or maybe it is my lack of sleep from this weekend .........Yes I know it brings up all messages of author by name ..........but you still have to count ;-) or did I miss something ??

Not that I was really looking because it doesn't matter regardless it isn't too hard to figure out most of the alias...........yeah we already knew who you are ;-)

If you search your messages for the last 30 days it shows the count at the bottom : RESULTS - 23 messages. The top 10 posters shows you have 24 messages in the last 30 days. Two days ago you were in sync, so we know you posted a message on this board under an alias in the last couple days. If someone was watching closely, they know exactly which post it was. So you better confess before they out you, lol.

I was testing you ....... so you do have to count. ;-) Where do you find the time ?? Good thing it is only like 20 not 200 ..........LOL LOL
But actually when I counted 2 days ago it was not in sync it was still off......maybe it was the time change ??

not trying to hide ,just being funny ;-)

I'm not really sure who uses aliases.  When I see an obvious alias I figure somebody just wants to be a jackass so I don't pay much attention.  When I use my alias I am trying to be in a more professional impartial mind-set.

I have several alias's but use them only for humorous responses. Never to criticize, flame or respond to "serious" posts. Sometimes, they are used only once for a specific reply. I consider one of the smaller benefits of being a VIP member.

I am new to the LV board, you may see more from me, my "home" board is DC.

almost every guy posted under an alias one time or another!! WOW

The Top 10 appears to count all posts on all boards, but doing a count by using the search feature only counts the board you're in at the time.  Most of the names on the Top 10 list post on various boards, so you'd have to visit all locations and add them up in order to be accurate in any way.

Alias' aren't a big deal if used consistently. Most of us know who the usual alias names really are, anyway.

Hey Smarty: Does the "One name per thread" rule apply to moderators too?

The rule of multiple aliases and/or user names not being allowed in the same thread is applied universally with only two exceptions. The two exceptions are in the case that multiple aliases are being used in a thread which is a joke/as a joke.

In the case of TER Administration or Moderators posting as officials, moderators are allowed to post or express their opinion in threads (especially if being done under an alias). However, when it is required of them to do their job as moderators then they post in the thread as moderators rather than a casual discussion or opinion.

And then unofficially moderators are here to help people, but if it is boring and slow we are here to cause havoc, stir up shit, insult people and generally just raise hell for hells sake. roflmao.

You are my ideal of chaos .. in a very nice package, I might point out. (And with a rather wicked left, as I recall)

You need to post more, sweetheart. Smarty needs the practice putting out fires he didn't light ;>)

Tigger

I see it now.. you mean THAT Top 10 Posters button.  I'd only noticed the one on the left. It woulda hit me some day...

I just checked General Discussion and hit the Top 10 and it gave me the same list/totals as Las Vegas Discussions.

The question I have is when you gonna break the top 100 reviewers IMALLIN? ;-)

Those two lists look nothing alike to me....both being the lists for the last 30 days.

Most obvious board that showed the use of aliases in the total count was the "Erotic Highway" board.  The main poster there was "the Love Goddess" but she always posts with an alias...so the number 1 poster on that board had been her actual user name, and the total the day checked for that user name was 471 posts by the number 1 poster on that board, and a quick search showed in the same amount of time "The Love Goddess" had made 471 posts...and a search for her actual user name showed 0 posts in the same time frame.

Since that little faux pas they seem to have fixed it and removed her actual user name, like on other boards they removed the names of top ten posters that have been banned...funny how many of the most prolific posters on a number of boards had been banned.

cause I didn't see that button at the top.  I was looking on the link on the left side.

God do I feel old now.
