It's Tennessee whiskey- bourbon that goes through the Lincoln County process (which I believe changes it substantially, from having done my fair share of JD and bourbons- I think it makes it lighter than a bourbon).

I'm a Maker's Mark (with coke or in a Manhattan) and Woodford Reserve (sipping bourbon with a bit of branch water) guy, myself.
