Through a comedy of errors starting with my client leaving it addressed to my work name, followed by not putting his name on it to end with them not releasing it to neither him nor me I am now looking for out of the box ideas as to how to retrieve it.

I need an ID with my work name!  Any ideas please PM and do not put on the open board for obvious reasons.  I hear Hong Kong has a few reputable places that might be able to help. lol Anyone ever used one of these services that really follow through with a realistic verification?

Learn from me...the Aria ALWAYS checks ID no matter what.  They wouldn't even let my client change the name on the envelope because he couldn't prove he left it.  Seriously?

WTF ever happened to just leaving it on the bathroom counter, or pulling it out of the safe when you got behind closed(and preferrably locked, in my case) doors?

I get shit that I take things too seriously, but this is just too much. Leaving it at the front desk? Really?

What's next? Having a third party count it out infront of the both of you, have you sign some sort of document that infact such transaction did occur, then have it notarized?

I suspect it was left in the room and the gal just somehow forgot to grab it when she left the room.  Then the client checked out and housekeeping found it and turned it in.  

Quite a dilemma.  Curious what Aria will do with the cash if proper ID can't be produced to retrieve.  I'm also going out on a limb and suspect it may be a rather large amount.  Those lofts are top shelf...may have  been an overnighter!   Ouch!

doesn't it? If he just wanted to compensate you for the cancellation, the amount in that encelope is not worth risking a fake i.d., much less my suggestion below. I would chalk it up to bad luck and let it go. A lot of guys wouldn't have even tried to make up for cancelling that way. He was at least a gentleman about it. If you look at it that way, you're really not out that much. I AM sorry for you about that though. As I said, this was a new one!

I just read that it was not a small amount of money! So please disregard my post above. I am out of ideas though. The risk to reward ratio for this problem is for you to determine and act upon (or not). After reading about what you and your client have already done it sounds to me like the Aria is being pretty unreasonable about this. Have they told you what they will do with that envelope now?

I'm sure the Aria wants the person it was intended for to have that envelope. It should be easy enough to prove that person is you. Just show them your website or an ad with your picture on it. It is a risk that the Aria will frown on the business arrangement you conducted in their hotel though. They might ban you from the premises but I'm sure they will give you the envelope. I highly doubt that they will alert L.E. about you.

Yeah that will go over really well showing a hotel your website and ad stating you are an escort picking up an envelope.Don't be too sure about not alerting anyone if someone was silly enough to do as you suggested.

but sometimes ya gotta know when to hold them and ya gotta know when to fold them.  More than likely, only your client has a chance to get that envelope.   There are several ways he can go about this even if he failed to put his name on it. As for you...unless you can charm an employee, I don't see a safe solution.  The risk with fake IDs is larger than what could possibily be in that enevlope.  I hope you at least had a good time with the gent.

That either makes him the Amazing Kreskin or, duh, the person who left it. Go down to the front desk with you, ask for a manager, open the envelope in front of them, and so on. Hell, it will have his fingerprints on it, right?

And any decent client is going to come up with the money and do what it takes to get you taken care of. This isn't your problem. He screwed up, not you. You don't leave things to be picked up without using real names (where one can show ID), duh.

exact words to my client "we have no idea if you left this envelope or not since there your name is not on the envelope other."  Like some reandom guy (who is staying int he sky suites btw would know that there is an envelope AND what was in it.  These people are horrible.  He went round and round with the head of security and they said unless he wanted to open a written complaint and fill out paperwork with BOTH our names they would not change the name nor give it back to him. Yeah like he really wants to do that. lol

I HAVE to do something it is not a small amount of money.

He said there was nothing else he could do.  Good luck to me but he was already out the money.  I won't even mention that he is a big wig at a top fortune 200 company which is why he couldn't make that big of a fuss because he is fairly well known in top business circles.

Man this sucks so bad.

Hi Well if you don't have any outstanding warrants against you then go get yourself a Sheriff's Card (Exotic dancing card)  Then go online and print your own business cards that would contain both your real name and your dancing name.  (vistaprint.com)   Both these card should do the trick.  No pun intended.  If not get a client who's a Lawyer.
