So I made a big BoBo. I gave a young lady a wrong number by mistake. Actually a typo on one of the digits. When she did not show up on time I thought to give upto 10mins. I texted her where was she but no reply. I gave some more time, finally 30 mins past I noticed the text had the wrong number. Of course I called left a message to say sorry and texted too. What else can I do - suggestion?

It must have been extremely awkward for her if someone answered the door...

Can't believe you didn't double check to make sure it was correct.

Has happend to me a few times where gent gave me wrong room number .
It was an innocent mistake.

Yes a bit awkward once when one guy answered the door and I threw my arms around him and planted a big wet kiss ....... and his wife was in the room ......... oops ........but everyone had a good laugh about that lol lol  
A few other times no one ever answered the door ........ Thank God LOL LOL  

BUT , what I don't understand is why the lady didn't try contacting you ??
because the first thing I did , when I realized I didn't have the correct room , I called the gent and got correct room number .

and the few times when I knocked on the door and there was no answer ......... I called the gent .
Got correct room number , no big deal and all was good.

So again , regardless what you did or didn't do ...... why didn't SHE call YOU ???  

At this point , nothing you can do . You called , you texted you said you were sorry .
Sounds like she is a flake if she never even bothered to call you or answer you .

Although there may be another side to the story that we don't know  

Are you sure you texted or dialed the right number ??
Is there maybe previous history between you two that we are not aware of ??

If the story is as exactly as you have told it here ........ then time to move on.

Turned out to be my lucky #13 TER review which was so appropriate.. LOL!

Don't worry about it...  the lady you could not get anything straight with ended up with me all night and I took care of her.

Similar thing just happened to me yesterday.....those darn rooms in Aria are a bit confusing and she had transposed the first two numbers for the room.  But i figured it out.....I'm just at a loss as to why she didn't contact you or answer your text or call.  Pretty lame, IMO!  

(Well, unless the "other room" occupant was happy to answer open his door!   knowwhatimean?  LOL )

Instead of expecting pizza delivery.

and would add to the event, others are often hobbying in Vegas while traveling there with acquaintances.  The public meeting is too high risk often times requiring the 'come up to the room' arrangement.  That said, Claire, I'd buy you a drink either way!

I hope you did not pre-pay.  Someone else may have enjoyed "your" time.

Not smart of you, but I won't rub it in.

You could always knock on the door and say, "Housekeeping". Maybe carry a few high end mints for the pillow just in case it's the wrong room.

Every Gent I meet is a PERFECT GENTLEMAN !!!! and NO they do not need to meet me at the bar  
for a drink, and I am not delivering pizza .

There are plenty of reasons why a gent can't meet at the bar and it doesn't make him any less of a Gentleman because of that.

Actually I think it is even more weird and awkward waiting for someone you don't know in a bar.
Everyone is staring at you......what can I say it's the curls that make them look LOL LOL

Then I have to walk into a bar with this roller bag ........ not natural.
or meeting at a bar in the early afternoon ...... although this is Vegas and it is a 24 hour town ...
still weird sitting at a bar that early in the day , especially if not many other people in the bar.

Really no reason to "meet at a bar" unless a room key is required to get to room.
and if Gent needs discretion , plenty of ways to slide me a room key and we walk to the room separately.

I don't know your reasons why you feel the need to meet at a bar .
but ladies have told me - well I feel safer that way.
News flash , that is a myth .  
Just because someone met you at the bar doesn't keep you safe from anything .  
Not going into details here what that means . And please no need for anyone to volunteer information what that means.  
Whoever needs to know , should get it.

BTW wrong room info although happened a few times in the past , can no longer happen.
I have a system in place to make sure room info is correct .  
So that can never happen again

Thanks to all for some funny comments and serious input.

She texted back and accepted my apology. She came back later on and ofcourse I left a little extra for her second trip. BTW nobody answered the door and she thought I flaked out on the last moment - I guess that happens too. Since this was my first time with her, she thought it would have been awkward for her if someone actually answered the door.

Due to discretion I do not like to meet the ladies in public place as I have been spotted once (an aquaintance not SO) and I had a difficult time wiggling my way out. I am not sure if I have ever cleared the air.

I like the idea when the provider lets you know that they are in the hotel and should be up in a few mnutes.

and I agree about her coming up to the room.  If you're in town for a convention and you're staying at one of the popular strip hotels, you'd have to do some fast talking if you ran into someone you know. "Oh she works in customer service at the company" might work as an excuse for why you're with a  sexy hottie.  

 

Last winter I flew to Vegas for R&R. Was 1,700 miles from home and hadn't planned on seeing people I knew. After checking in I was in the rear of the elevator heading up to the room when a guy near the elevator door turns around and says, "Hey! You go to my gym." So meeting downstairs for a drink verses meeting at the room both have its advantages and disadvantages.
