I want to visit Las Vegas some time soon maybe next week and looking for some suggestions and advice please.  I did visit once before and did not do my research, as I am new to the U.S.

Cheers

can you be a bit more specific on what things your interested in.

Do you want suggestions on where to stay? where to eat? what shows to see? etc, etc, etc.

Good Luck.

...there are several sites like this but this is a good primer. Also sites like yelp.com give you ratings on Vegas attractions.
Keep following this board for frequent posts about visitors favorite restaurants, shows, hotels and casino resorts. Hope you enjoy your next trip to Vegas and have a successful visit!

I am sure a number of guys would like to meet with you in Vegas.
Not very often a Aussie girl is in town...lol.

The best way to see if guys are interested in meeting you is to put an advert in the Las Vegas AD page.

That way you can see how many guys get in touch with you, and if its worth your time visiting, unless you just want to visit as a tourist.

Its very hard to give advice on places to eat, or places to stay, because there are just so many.
Without knowing what food you like, or how much you are willing to pay for an hotel, its virtually impossible to advise.

In Vegas you can pay $20 a night for a room, or $500.
Same goes for eating options.
Always lots of shows to see, and loads of shopping to do, with quite a few hotels having large malls inside them.
Caesars Palace has the massive Forum shops, Planet Hollywood has the Miracle mile, Venetian has the Grand Canal Shopps, Crystals at the City Center is new and shiny, and the list goes on.

If your a millionaire you can shop at Wynn/Encore...lol.
You can even shop at a couple of Ross stores on the strip, if your looking for cheap goods.

So so much to do and see in Vegas, so you really should visit one day

Alley,

First of all, welcome to the US.  One thing that will come to your attention very quickly is that at this time of year LV is very hot and the sun's rays can be unforgiving so dress appropriately.  I noticed you are an Aussie so perhaps you can relate to the weather, especially if you have visited the desserts of the Australian Outback.  To put it in your terms, temps of 40 to 45 deg C (104 to 113 deg F) here in LV are not uncommon.  As Baz Luhrmann once said, “Make sure you have plenty of sunscreen.”  Next, for the info on what to do, here is a useful site I use from the local chamber of commerce:  http://www.lvcva.com/ will give you a good overview and for specifics on what other travelers like and to help formulate one’s plans I sometimes go to tripadvisor.com for LV it is http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g45963-Las_Vegas_Nevada-Vacations.html.  Also, to get an idea of what locals and tourists think of particular dining, bars, clubs and other establishments I would also check on Yelp.com, http://www.yelp.com/las-vegas.  And the last thing is, have fun and enjoy the trip.  There is quote from a local broadcast news person, George Knapp that I think says it all, “Greetings from the boldest, bawdiest most outrageous city in the world, the planetary capital of sun, fun, sin, sex and secrets, my not so humble hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada.”

that posts like this are just a veiled attempt at advertising the fact that a provider is visiting a particular city?

Anyone that has the ability to post a message here, also has the ability to search TER and other sites for information that has been repeated over and over again about Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is my favorite city (Geneva Switzerland a close second and Frisco third). It has everything you can imagine and is one of the few cities where and average joe (like myself) can be treated like a high roller.

I would advise anyone to find a reasonable place to stay (Monte Carlo, TI); but find time to stay at a high end resort for at least 1 night (Wynn, Encore, Cosmo).

Eat at cheaper places; but find one night to dine at a high end restaurant (Sinatra, Bartolotta, Mix)...
As a ex-hobbyist the one thing I was never able to accomplish (due to costs of time) was to dine with a nice provider at Eifle Tower restaurant or Prime or Jasmine.....

Some hotels are probably better than others. Monte Carlo, Luxor, MB, TI (no security). Paris and Bally's are center of action.

Just PM me, if you have specific questions.

Good Luck and enjoy

...when you make a post, include a link to your website within the body of the post like this:

It's the Las Vegas way!

BTW...an Aussie accent on a pretty Sheila is the sexiest IMO!  :D

Girls that post are a little bit different IMHO.  They are out going, confident, bold, communicative.  Once I found the boards I've pretty much stuck to finding dates based on posts I read.

I'd rather see a post then an ad any day.

but that's just me.

And I HIGHLY AGREE.

Personally... I find it pretty rude from a newbie questioning a visiting ladies intentions. Like TripAdvisor, Yelp or any of the other places are going to have advice on safe and friendly places for providers to stay and visit in LV.

....And people wonder why so many great ladies are no longer actively posting on TER.

Newbie?  Are you referring to me?  Now that's funny.

The info she was asking for has been discussed many times in TER.  Ads should be posted in the ads section.

1) Alley does not even have set dates for Vegas. Nothing worse then placing ads with pretend dates (yes - it happens) just to see what the response is and then cancelling if there are not enough inquiries.

2) Vegas is always changing which is what makes it so exciting. What was cool last year could be pretty lame this year.  Hell... I went to 3 new cool places this past weekend and I'm in Vegas the majority of the year. Went to a couple of other places that used to be cool and are now lame.

Obviously - Alley is new to the boards and probably has not seen all of those discussions so give a newbie visitor the benefit of the doubt. Asking questions about what's going on and what to do in Vegas is far better then the ISO posts IMO. Besides... I tend to believe in the philosophy that if you don't have anything beneficial to say or contribute, just move on to the next thread.

I know more then a couple of very cool ladies who have been turned off by the boards and no longer contribute because posters think they are moderators or something.

Anyways -- Have a good one!

...which is the exact type of post that Alley made. If you feel Alley's post is an ad then so is the post asking about BBW Fanfest. She can find out that info if she wants without posting on the discussion board. She's just trying to get herself a bit of attention from the board readers while simply initiating some friendly conversation. Nothing wrong with that. All provider's should be made to feel welcome to post here. That's a bit hypocritical of you, I feel.

She was asking about a specific event.  It wasn't a "hey I'm coming to Las Vegas.  Tell me about Las Vegas." post.  As far as I know, a BBW FanFest has not been discussed before.  Not at all hypocritical.
