Two Problems - Noob and Unknown schedule

I will be in Las Vegas this week and I am interested in some play.

I have two problems:

1) I am a complete noob from out of town with no reference or verification
2) I am traveling with a group, need to be discreet, and have no idea when I might have time to play.

I do know that Thursday the 8th is likely the only day that will work, as that is the day I have a room of my own.

Am I basically stuck with looking to find a provider at a hotel bar?

Is there a chance of hooking up with an indy with the unknown time slot?

Help me out here, folks. Not all my fun can come from the table games and hanging out with friends, and not all my money need be spent on food and drink.
