Girls who do brothel work have two partners: the house and the IRS. Girls need to make a reasonable rate after commission and taxes, which represents usually 2/3 of what the client paid. So, I'm not sure what you mean by "reasonable" pricing, I think it's going to be hard to find the right balance.
I live in Summerlin, and don't do Pahrump, nor for that matter, Beatty. I'd see an independent first, if I ever stop running into them in the casinos. Pahrump, for several reasons, is a tourist deal only. Think about it why that is.
Finally, I am by Vegas standards a too demanding client (by other standards I am a red blooded heterosexual male who really enjoys women). How would you guarantee quality of service in a local trade which considers clients marks and not gentlemen?
I have heard of at least four proposed brothel deals since 1/1/2003. Easier said than done, IMO, on all counts.
As a relative long-time (six years and counting) patron of Legal Prostitution in Nevada (LPIN) as well of as Independent Escorts (including Porn Stars), I have to tell you that from a potential client's standpoint, LPIN is a much better deal for the brothel investors than it is for the ladies or even oftentimes the customers.
For a group wishing to build a new brothel, there's first and foremost the problem of obtaining a brothel license. And the current political climate in Pahrump (Nye County) does not bode will for the issuance of another license anytime soon (though reportedly, Angels Ladies in Beatty is and has been for sale for some time now). Next there's the spector of competing against the well established Pahrump houses, namely the Chicken Ranch and the Resort at Sheri's Rnach. I'm not mentioning the two nearby establishments owned by the infamous Joe Richards since they are not even in the same league. Finally, there's the enormous cost of building a new brothel, especially if it is to be "upscale". All of these factors and more lead to the traditional "50/50" split of the courtesans' fee with the house. This serves to drive up the price the provider must charge to break even, let alone make a decent profit. And as "Number 6" mentioned, there's the IRS as well. Since everything is legal and above board, the Feds are going to demand their "cut" from the lady. These factors makes it very hard for ladies to attract clients who are anything less than "whales", and I doubt very many more of them would be willing to head out to Pahrump than already do so, especially when they can stay right there in Vegas and see top IEs and Porn Stars discreetely.
Throw in the fact that most Nye County brothels are "lockdown" houses where the ladies are not free to come and go as they please, and I think you begin to see that this idea works much better on paper than it does in the "real world". However, if you and the group you mention are serious and determined, I wish you the best of luck in pursuing this idea. I for one, would at least "check it out", even though I doubt I could afford the prices most ladies working at such a new house would have to charge.
Prior to the internet, I used to do the Nevada brothel circuit. The independent providers working in southern California are a much better deal. Why pay more for less?
