Actually, those who sent the emails showed concern about offending me, although I completely understood where they were coming from.

The point is, due to a few reviews apparently claiming I do not/no longer resemble the woman in the photos on my website, I’ve had a chain of emails questioning what I really DO look like.  I.E. how much weight have I gained, what is the color and length of my hair, body tone, etc...

Seems over winter I met a gent or two after recently recovering from the flu, or perhaps after sitting in a classroom for 4 hours.  Gosh, I must’ve looked pretty bad!  

Apologies for not appearing at my peak, but he/they assured me that for “just one hour together” I needn’t worry about looking my “absolute best”.  (Never again will I agree to not arriving looking my absolute best.  Even I don’t like it!)

In any event, the emails I’ve been receiving have pushed me to action and I have an appointment with my photographer tomorrow.  Those of you who know me (admittedly, not many!) know how I despise being photographed, so please keep your fingers crossed for me.  This time my best friend will not be taking the pictures of me, but a real life professional!  So any mess-ups in camera angles (I’ve been told I appear taller (??) in my photos, although my site clearly states my 5’4” stature) we experienced last time will no longer be of concern.

My photos should be updated on my website within the next two weeks--sooner if I can figure out how to place them, but all I really know how to deal with are text and colors, so I think I will leave it to my web host.

So again, thanks for pushing me to get my photos updated and prove how I look as of summer 2007.

It takes a good-sized heart and lotsa brains to look objectively at something negative and turn it positive.   Most people would have simply cursed the authors and lowered their view of humanity in general, but you rose above all that and came out ahead!  To me, that defines a winner.

But I have had the opportunity to meet you at times in the past and found you to be charming, intelligent, kind hearted, warm and affectionate. It would be hard to believe you would need make up or a few pounds gained would make any difference----You are still tops in my book!!!!

Oh my gosh...first I received a phone call from a friend I had not heard from in over a year.  (A very welcome phone call, by the way!!)
Then he updated me that there were nice comments on TER responding to my post.  

Thank you for the kind words.    I am uber-sensitive, a trait that is both a blessing and a curse.  As a feminist, it means a lot to read kind words of support from other women in this industry.  And again, as a feminist, it also means a lot to read kind words of support from men who respect women in this industry.

WTF?? Offensive e-mails?? What is up with you guys???? Only a true gentleman understands that what a woman has between her ears is just as important as between her legs. As an experienced hobbyist for over 10 years...IMHO Selena is among a very select few women that are in a class by themselves. Unless you have spent time with her, you will just not understand what it is like to experience a true GFE. Sure wish she lived closer to Philly!!!
