Maybe in the western world Gandhi is miss understood.
But for those who are spiritual and open minded  Gandhi’s represents common values of equality, tolerance and nonviolence, regardless of ethnicity, racial or religious background.
this is just a tip of Gandhi's philosophy .. just to tired to list everything ;-)

I think his values are related to the hobby and the world we live in.

So thank you Nikki for your post.
btw, since when is every post here only related to the hobby ???

From my understanding and personal experience threads need to be hobby related, that is of course, unless this is not applied universally to everyone. Having said that... I agree with your reasoning.:D

There is no shame in admitting it and no need to hide behind an alias to do so.

I'm sorry for causing you so much confusion :( Just in case you're not familiar with (or confused by) the term "human condition", here's a link that defines it in very simple language...

Gandhi practiced celibacy. He tried many times to stop having sex with his wife after they had children but failed again and again until he finally conquered lust. According to Vedic and Hindu culture sex is for propagation only not for pleasure so he was against promiscuous sex.

LOL LOL LOL

In most or many Religions(for sure Jewish religion)sex is about procreation , not pleasures of the body ........... and I have many clients of all religions.
Including very orthodox Jews........... that is why they have Yom Kippur LOL LOL
Hey no one is perfect ;-) ;-)

Then those religionists are hypocrites but Gandhi was a true saint.  BTW... how can you compare Gandhi to Spitzer?  I don't think you really know who Gandhi was.  I suggest you read his autobiography.

Are you are in agreement with the confused one that wishing everyone Happy Gandhi day on MY regional board was inappropriate? Do you feel the same way about Christmas and all of the other holidays?

I know VERY well who Gandhi was.
And I wasn't comparing him to Spitzer. I was comparing it to the IDEA that someone can be against something, but still partake in it.
Sorry you didn't get it.

Just to make it clear I am not talking about Gandhi and hookers. It's about Gandhi and sex

Nikki,

Please don't misunderstand me. Happy Gandhi Day is a good thing and I celebrate it wholeheartedly. I also appreciate you for bringing it up. What I'm referring to is Gandhi and sex.  The truth is that he was against sex for the sake of pleasure and he didn't partake of it, for if he did, he couldn't be the leader of Satyagraha (holding firmly to truth), which was the renunciant society he founded. According to all the historical references Gandhi never lied. Well... it is strange to have this discussion on this site but it was meant to be in order to bring forth AWARENESS.

Peace, Love, Bliss & Namaste...
