one would think they would work something out for the working girls.   obviously the car guys can tell when its a pro showing up for a date.    i would think if you politely asked not to be scanned they would accommodate you.   i understand most girls tip the guys when they arrive to keep their cars up front and not parked in the lot.

First "resort fees" which allow you to flush the toilet for $30 more a day and now this.  It's been said a zillion times before but here goes:  Just state an accurate daily rate that is all inclusive, and "they", meaning "we" will still come.

Does this apply for guests of the hotel?  Or does park in get validated by the hotel if you are a guest?  What prompted this?  Guests complaining about no parking?  I've never had a problem finding a spot at any hotel so i doubt thats the reason.

back in the day casinos made money off of the gamblers.
the rooms were ugly. they wanted people on the floors.
as the years moved on they adjusted with the times...
made things family friendly...
encouraged nightclubs, etc...

nothing will bring a casino more money then gambling, period.

when they changed concepts... everything changed.

resort fees, blackjack 6:5, where does the list end?

so now... like most other major cities in america, you pay to park. :)

In the big picture most visitors to these venues dont drive, they come by cab from the airport. So who exactly will be paying? Well eventually 1)locals and 2)visitors who drive to Vegas (mostly from California), and 3)those visitors who rent cars.

Im pretty sure the suits are thinking as long as their other strip casino buddies come around and join the parade, this is going to be a great success. Sadly I think they are right. The locals arnt big visitors to the strip, and the other two groups noted above will add parking to their cost of their vacation. Now its important to note the downtown casinos have required parking stubs be validated for years but this is different of course.

I have rented a car every time I have visited Vegas which is probably 50+ times. Now the next time I visit, thinking October for the Barrett Jackson Auction...... but never soon enough lol...I will take pains to avoid any place trying to nickel and dime me for another few bucks. There are lots of other options around town and Im not a fan of the strip casinos anyway.

Sadly, I think I will be in the minority here and another era has ended.

I agree with you.  I, like you, visit often and always rent a car.  As much as possible , I will avoid MGM properties.  Not so much because of the cost, but out of principle.

good if you can afford it. will keep going up.
