If I was looking to see before buying, I might consider one of the brothels.  Short of that, it's hit or miss.  Another option is to do some serious research; not fool proof, but pretty good.

and THEN you pay for the session, which may well be MORE expensive than the typical $400-500 indie (not including what you spent). Oh, and realize that if she gets busted, she loses her sheriff's card and her ability to work the clubs in Vegas, so a lot of girls won't do this.

Yes, you can occasionally win at "stripper takeout" in Vegas- but generally you need to be a local as whorist suggests, so that you can be trusted and develop a relationship. Vegas isn't a great place for it, either, compared to other places.

Compare and contract with an indie with good pictures on her site, good reviews and a fixed rate, and I think it's a slam dunk as to which is the better deal. Oh, and a fair number of them WERE strippers in their former lives (or even are still now)...

Yes, it is more expensive overall but I would rather pay $800 ($200 strippers, $600 escort) and be really satisfied than $400-500 for someone who almost never looks as good as her pics (assuming they actually are her pics).

LV I have found is especially difficult.  It is the bait and switch capital of the world.   I think many providers think the guy will be so horny he won't even notice she isn't the girl in the pics.

The options where you can check out the provider in person prior to starting are:

1) strip club.  Kinda poor.  Unless you can spend a lot of time (read you live here and visit a lot over a long period of time) and/or a small fortune (a few hours in VIP to warm them up), it's difficult to get a dancer to see you outside the club (or give extras inside the club).  Plus, dancers are notorious for being flaky.

2) brothels.  You have to leave the county to find them.  I believe there are six at least an hour or three away from the strip in Nye County that are still open.  Speed Racer had a prior post about legalized prostitution in Nevada (aka LPIN).  

3) bar girls.  They usually double as agency girls and hang out by the casino bar (or guest elevators), talking on their mobiles for potential clients.  The downsides can be bad (assault, theft, drugs).  Usually fair to poor service although like all things in Vegas, you might get lucky (don't count on it, the odds are always stacked against you).

4) tourists.  Yeah, they come in from out of town and look to have a wild time in Vegas.  Who knows, maybe you can talk someone into bed with you and get it for free.  Generally easier than picking up women wherever you're from but still takes a lot of skills.

Most guys who know this town will take a well reviewed escort over the other options.  That requires making plans in advance with them and making sure you both have the free time available.  Small price to pay for what is almost guaranteed to be a sure thing.  Of course, to narrow down the choices, it helps to search the reviews here (VIP membership gives you better info, $20/month isn't a lot when a great provider might run $500/first hour give or take).
