So is anyone going to the River Regatta? It grew annually from something like 1000 to 3000 to 10000+ to 27,000 people last year. They have a big beach party with a bunch of bands for the after party on the beach (I think, the beach this year?).

The casinos and bars were packed the night after with people who have been drinking and in the sun all day. I had such a great time last year and met a couple real of nice women who had traveled all the way from Iowa for the event. The actual event is hilarious. Very elaborate rafts, costumes and bikini cladness as far as the eye can see. The biggest party I have ever been to and everyone is SO friendly out on their rafts.

Saturday August 11

A correction, there is no after party, but there are several events starting on thursday leading up to the Regatta. Last year they had a poker run after the event, which we did and had a blast. It was not as organized as most poker runs I have been on, but it was the first one they tried, so they get a pass.

Actually, the night before party is a much better idea than an after party. A day in an innertube in the heat and trying to keep it together for an after party doesn't work so well for most. I walked around laughing at how shit faced nearly everyone was after the last after event beach party I attended.

It's a fun time. It will be off the hook crazy this year! How many times can you laugh in one day?

All you need is an innertube, some drinks and sunscreen...that's it. Well, that and really strong boardshort velcro if you're like me.
