Speaking of 18 vs 98...

I always check out the Beloit mindset list for the current year. (it list what students entering college have for a world view growing up. (world view is used loosely)

Some examples from 2013:

The Green Giant has always been Shrek, not the big guy picking vegetables.
They have never used a card catalog to find a book.
Margaret Thatcher has always been a former prime minister.
Salsa has always outsold ketchup.
Earvin "Magic" Johnson has always been HIV-positive.
Tattoos have always been very chic and highly visible.
They have been preparing for the arrival of HDTV all their lives.
Spice up your life has only meant one thing.

The list reminds me of a segment from the Tonight Show  ( Jaywalking )  
Leno asked college students political questions ( This was during the 2008 primary elections )  
The students didn't know the answers .
The questions were very easy , like-
Who are the Republican and Democrat nominees  ?
What is Barack's last name ? Hillary's last name ?  
The students were clueless. But when asked pop culture questions like -
What is the name of Britney Spears ex husband ? What are the name of her kids ? .......
The students knew all the answers.

The disturbing part about all this was these were students who were majoring in Journalism........ ....WOW  
Well maybe they are just looking to work for Star magazine  LOL LOL LOL

God can you imagine a newbie coming to the Las Vegas board and reading so many freaky

he will probably think he is in the wrong place .

A few days ago I was in the checkout line at a grocery store.  Someone asked the checker if they sold any camera film at the store.  The checker said something like: "Well, if we do, it will be on aisle 7."  After the customer seeking the film left for aisle 7, I said to the checker: "You should have told her you keep the camera film right next to the typewriter ribbon."
