I would like to ski in Vegas?  Any suggestions? Should I stay up in the mountain or commute from the strip?

Skiing at Mt Charleston is 1hr 15 min from LV.  There is only one hotel on the mountain.  Also, skiing at Mt Charleston is very limited.  There are only 3 lifts including the bunny slope and one of them is closed because of damage from an avalanch.

The best skiing is at Brianhead UT, 4 hours north on I-15.  Lots of runs, lifts, hotels, and condos.  Also, every Tuesday lift tickets are just $10.

There is a ski area on Mt. Charleston.  I don't know if it would still be open this late in the season.  I would stay in LV and commute to the ski area.

The places I hear about are Mt Charleston (Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard), Brianhead (UT), and Big Bear (CA).  Not sure if it's worth staying in Mt Charleston but you might consider places in Summerlin (JW Marriott, Suncoast) or downtown LV which is closer than being on the strip.
