--a little off topic--

Anybody been to Rosemary's restaurant on Sahara? I like to get away from the strip for dining (have been to many of the strip places).

Or any other off the strip suggestions? (heading there on the 2nd)

Never been there. But if you like Italian foor, Sergio's on E. Tropican around 1500 blk is one of the best off the strip. Just ate there the other day with a provider. Food was good too. lol

Lotus Of Siam is voted best Thai in the world by Cuisine or Bon Appetit; it's also on Sahara just east of the Strip (haven't been to Rosemary's but I've heard good things about it).  For a really good greasy breakfast, try the Black Bear Diner.  It's part of a smallish chain based in California.

Been there, too high price for the quality of food served. Service poor too!

There's a nice cluster of restaurants near Flamingo and Paradise.  McCormick & Schmick's, Piero's, Hamada of Japan, Mortons, Roy's, Buca di Beppo, Del Frisco's, Lawry's, Marrakech, Yolie's, Firefly, Sammy's Woodfire Pizza, Ruth Chris' and the list goes on.  If you go further south on Paradise, there's Rainbow Bar & Grill, Hofbrauhaus, Pho Hoa, Hamburger Mary, Paradise Catina, Hard Rock Cafe, Johnny Rockets and god knows what else near there.

A group of us went to Metro Pizza (the one on Decatur and Flamingo; they have another on Trop and Maryland, a third in Ellis Island on Koval) earlier this month.  Not sure if it's a top 10 pizza joint but not bad and has (relatively) cheap beer/wine.

Thai Spice gets good reviews (Flamingo and Arville, just past the Palms).

Been seeing a lot of local reviews for that weird twisted farm food place from San Diego, Hash House a Go Go (not to be confused with Hash House, a completely different restaurant) on Sahara and Rainbow.

There's a couple really good dim sum places, Cathay House on Spring Mountain (west of Chinatown; it's between Decatur and Jones) and Chang's (on Decatur north of Trop) do it every day of the week.

If you don't want to go to Chinatown for Chinese food (Spring Mountain and between Valley View and Wynn), some places outside there are Diamond (Industrial and that spur off Spring Mountain south of the Fashion Show Mall) which has a Sonny's Saloon in front of it and Joyful House (on Spring Mountain past Chinatown but before Decatur).

Pub food can be found in places like Crown & Anchor (Trop, just east of Maryland), McMullian's Irish Pub (on Trop just west of the Orleans casino), Jack's Irish Pub (Palace Station), and Fado's (Green Valley Ranch).

As you get closer to downtown, there's plenty of decent places to check out.  Florida Cafe has pretty good cuban food (on LV Blvd in the HoJo).  I like Ice House (Main St. just south of Bonneville) and Chicago Joe's, Dino's Lounge, Tinoco's Bistro, and Iowa Cafe are around that area (gets busy on First Fridays, www.firstfriday-lasvegas.org).

Makinos (Decatur and Flamingo; also Premium Outlet Mall, Grand Central and Bonneville) is a slightly better value than Todai's (Desert Passage in Aladdin) for a japanese buffet.

More than enough to keep you busy for a month :-).

They also have had so many demerits from the Health Dept, I'd be afraid to eat anything there. They are in the newspaper on a monthly basis with B & C grades.

Hannah's in Summerlin is super!  Their vodka martini beats my former favorites (Roppongi's in La Jolla and Duke's Hotel in London) and the sevice is wonderful.  Decent sushi, big menu, and lots of attractive people to look at.

Another great place for sushi is Sushi Fever on Sahara near Rainbow.  James Bond never tasted so good!

Sushi Avenue at Flamingo and 215 is also good, more of a party atmosphere.  Screaming Orgasms are to die for!

Enjoy.

Del Frisco's (steak) & Piero's (Italian) are the two best restaurants off the strip...period.

Just to add my two cents- I have eaten at Rosemarys a number of times the food is excellant and cosistant. Service is also usally top shelf. My suggestion otherwise would be Austins Steackhouse at the Texas Station. You won't find a better steak anywhere, good atmosphere and service. Enjoy
