I read earlier about a guy debating whether to go to a brothel or to hire an escort.He said that at least going to a brothel is legal.Has anyone in LV been busted for hiring an escort?I know the ladies are cautious about seeing a guy for the first time,I was with one who was more nervous than I was,she told me about several women she knew who had been arrested.Near where I live is Calumet City Illinois,which is well known in the Midwest for streetwalkers(which I would never patronize,these particular women have a high rate of disease and drug use)Every few months,they have a "sting",wherein a female cop walks down the street in hotpants and as soon as a guy approaches her,a police van is waiting to haul the guy away,and impound his car.I don't see how you can get in trouble by hiring a REPUTABLE escort;reading reviews,visiting websites,getting recommendations from guys on this board,etc.Has anyone here gotten in any legal trouble hiring an escort in LV before?

Nope,  about the only way I can see a fellow getting busted is by them chosing a lady who is unknow.   I can't recall where I came across it, but in San Diego the Vice cops had a lady cop posing as an escort on the net and where getting guys like that.  I was like " don't they have better things to do with there time"  I've also heard that every once in awhile the cops in Vegas will do a sting in the hotels where a female cops will hang out as a bar girl.  Mainly the cops go after the ladies.  There was a big bust in late April early May at the MGM and one there not long ago.

you would never get arrested for meeting with a reliable well known independant.  But that doesn't mean you should throw caution to the wind.  The fact is that ONLY in the Nevada brothels is sex for money legal.  And in other areas you can get hassled simply for appearing to be doing this.  There is the term "solicitation" that can be used when there is minimal proof of activity and can be used to take you "downtown" where you have, at the very minimum, a big hassle on your hands.  I almost got arrested in Memphis, TN just for having two girls in my car.  And you know what happened to Hugh Grant.  The lady he was with was not an undercover cop.  And then also, you know what happened down in Florida.

Be a smooth criminal.  Don't flaunt this activity.  Look around and know what's going on around you.  And for sure, hobby safely  

Come to think of it: I would consider sex-for-pay a "victimless"crime, BUT the law doesn't.The legal brothels are paying a hefty tax to the state.The escort you pay hundreds of dollars to may not be paying anything in (income) taxes.Naturally the law doesn't like that.They want to deter you to the brothels where part of that money goes back to the state.That seems to be all it's about.

I never heard of such a thing, it's politically incorrect. Guys have gotten popped in stings with strollers on LV Blvd* near Olympic Garden, but never heard of anything going on indoors.

It is about the money, isn't everything in the Valley of Dollars about the money? It's more like the casinos who put the heat on Metro. The way some execs see it, that $500 you spend on the girl at the bar could be better spent blowing it shooting dice.
