I'm platinum with ~2mil TC with MGM and just short of 7 stars with CES and the offers/comps I get from CES are way, way better than anything that comes from MGM. I'm a craps player with about $350 fully dressed so my action is only a little ahead of yours. I hate to ask the obvious, but are you toking the dealers? Always feed the dealers if you're looking for comps, win or lose. I make pass line, lay odds, in the field, two way yo all for the crew. End of the day whatever the boxman taps into the computer is going to stand as your play, and most will be just as generous with your rating as you are with the dealers. Hell, I've even had them ask me on more than one occasion what I wanted them to enter
Happy New Years to one of my favorite cities on earth!
Was sort of turned off my Caesers properties when I made my reservation call for March. The operator said my rooms were comped as they have been for the past 15 years and then told me I could only get casino discount rates because I abused my privileges. I was like what the hell? Never cheated the casinos and have won some $$$ and lost some $$$ but always play at the $25 tables with minimum bets usually being anywhere from $50 to $200. Much more than anyone else at the table. They connected me with an hostess and they said the last time I was there I played only a total of 6 hours over 4 days which was bs. I went on the trip to gamble and I know I probably played closer to 12 hrs. What the heck!! Now they want me to pay the casino discount rate along with the resort fees. I've worked my close to diamond status and now they pull this shit and then they say this happens to a lot of patrons that they abuse the comped rooms. Anyone have any advice of where I should take my business where they give comps to loyal customers. Thanks.
The only place I stay now is the Venetian/Palazzo. The only complaint I have about the gambling is that if you play for less than $50 minimum bet, they only pay 6/5 on blackjack. It's not a relevant issue for me, but with the kind of action you have (which is pretty similar to mine), they should be able to accommodate you. However, as we all know, the comp situation changes all the time. I get room offers for three nights and either some free bets or food credit and since I have a long standing relationship with a top level host, he usually throws in the fourth night as well. I do not get more than that, but that's just fine with me.
Pick the hottest woman you know here, & I guarantee you Caesar's Properties is tighter with their comps. All they do is take take take, they're the worst. Vegas is surely not what it used to be in casinos, and they've clearly all gotten worse the past 5 years or so.
I wish I had a good recommendation for a place you can get comped fairly if you give them good table game action, but, sadly, I don't.
If you find one, please let me know.
One afternoon, a friend of mine sat down and lost $2000 at blackjack at Wynn and then asked for a comp for a sandwich and was told he didn't play long enough! How's that? They're all assholes.
After accusing me of abusing the comp system, they give me a 3 min shill at the end of the conversation about how I'm eligible for a visa credit card and try to get me to commit to this.
MGM properties are a bit more generous in their comp etc but yeah they are all getting tighter .. i think its partly because they now make more $ from the clubs and other services than they do on gambling !!
i bet if you tell your casino host you are going to buy a bunch of table service bottles you might get some better reactions.
happy new years to everyone !

U bring up a really interesting point, that of toking the dealers. I find it onerous that one has to tip to get over-rated, so to speak, but you're probably right. I only tip when I'm ahead--it's tough enough to win, but I don't mind sharing profits. I find toking while losing somewhat ludicrous, but I do understand my point, so I now must ask if you think it's right that one has to basically pay to get rated well at these joints? That really doesn't sit well with me, and boyohboy are we off the track of this Hobby Board now LOL!
Well, I don't make any judgement either way about right or wrong, but I can tell you that it works. I toke the same win or lose. The way I look at it the crew is there and entertaining me all the same whether I'm having a good night or a bad night, and they all make minimum wage or close to it. The whole city runs on bribery anyway
I will say that the times I've had big drawdowns in the bankroll and I've been toking all night tend to be the times when they ask me "what do you want me to enter for your play?" And I'll say something to the effect of tell them I was here for 6 hours with an average bet of $500 per decision
and that's pretty much exactly what they put in. The only time I don't toke is if the boxman is an asshole or talks smack while I'm on a run and trying to set the dice in which case I just color and walk.
you sure sound like it!
100% to everything that you said and then some.
xo
you may be surprised to see just how many big casinos are on the brink of bankruptcy, they are terribly over leveraged. Take a look at their corporate bonds.......Caesars' is rated junk. Look further and you will see they are NOT alone.......not by a long shot!
I am not a big player - maybe $100.00 a day on slots - I try and visit a boyd property (usually Orleans), Wynn, Palazzo, MGM and Harrahs - during a visit.
Best offers I get are from Boyd gaming or MGM.
I read on a travel blog that Venetian recently changed their policy to have even comped room players pay resort fee and even added a "smart plan" ADDED to the resort fee....see below. I call it the "Idiot plan" - I mean you only check-into the Hotel once, but this fee is daily ????
THE SMART PLAN: INCLUDES TOP-TIER WI-FI
For an additional $40/night, you'll receive more than $80 worth of daily amenities.
