Saying that sanctioned Wsop events are prelimins is comparable to saying the NFL regular season is merely prelims to the SuperBowl however.

All the events sanctioned by the WSOP count towards point standings on the WSOP circuit.

I'm not certain that my health would permit me to enter the WSOP circuit but I can dream can't I? lol

The actual WSOP takes place every year in Las Vegas in June, I think, and it has most recently been held at the Rio. But judging by your second sentence, you already know that and this post was just for shits and giggles! Am I right? "Why go?" Indeed! You wouldn't be on this board if you didn't have a better reason than gambling! Lol!
