I was thinking about staying at the revamped Planet Hollywood during my next visit.  I usually stay at teh Mirage or TI.  Any thoughts on this hotel?

Long as walk though from the re-vamped Valet parking to room elevators. Just FYI

The Mirage just opened a new BARE pool, its topless!!!

It's a nice enough 4 star. I liked it better when Commander's Palace was there (some of the best food in LV, in my opinion), and their buffet's pretty decent. Gambling minimums are pretty good 5 or 10 dollar craps isn't uncommmon. A Bellagio view (and if you are VERY lucky, a suite) can likely be had if you tip the desk clerk $20 at checkin. Also, since they are a Starwood property, you can get loyalty points or free upgrades if yoou are SPG Gold or better.

The rooms were nice & big, especially if you only had a single King bed.

Bathrooms are HUGE, giant soaking tub & a separate shower, & a "water closet" for the toilet.;)

Don't know what the gambling's like in the casino, but as far as design, "high-end on the cheap" is pretty much the way I put it.  An upgrade over the previous Aladdin casino design, but as far as competing with the nicer casinos on the strip, it's definitely not in the same league.

Rooms are better than TI or Mirage, but at least as far as atmosphere, the casino area is a step down IMHO.  I'm a poker player, so don't know about how favorable the conditions are for gambling there, or how they are for comps.

The only hotel I really have issue with is Mirage because u need to hotel card for elevator.Belagio and Venitian as well.I guess I need to start collecting cards...lol.I just have my dates met me if it comes down to it.

Thanls for the help everyone.  I think I will stick with the Mirage.  Perhaps I will see Jenny at the pool?

getting to/from:  still hasn't changed.  It's a bit harder to get in and out since the valet entrance is on Harmon and northbound LV Blvd traffic can back up trying to make that right turn (they need a pedestrian bridge over that intersection like most of the major intersections along the strip).  The self park is in back and you got a long walk from the back of the Miracle Mile shopping mall to ph.

Can't say a lot about the rooms but they look good from what I've seen.  The strip side has a fab view of the CityCenter project (the massive $7.4 billion project across the strip).  Some of the upper floors require a keycard at the elevator.

The tables generally have at least $10 minimums these days (maybe $5 on some of the games like Let It Ride and Crazy 4 Poker).  You won't see Pai Gow (tiles) (or Sic Bo which I saw once at Mirage) at ph.  Most of the tables surround the Center Heart Lounge (blasting music and go-go dancers on platforms in the evenings).  There's the Extra! Lounge nearby towards the poker room.  The second floor has the high limit rooms and the sportsbook.

Commanders Palace was a loss.  I don't think the entrance from that side of the casino to the mall/outside is opened yet.  Decent food choices all over the property though.

Entertainment options galore.  V Theatre has 3-4 different shows from afternoon to evening.  The Steve Wyrick space has another 3-4 shows plus an afterhours nightclub (Triq) on the weekends.  They just did their "official" grand opening after a couple of softer grand openings.  Hans Klok/Pamela Anderson magic show should be starting up this month (for previews at least) in the main theater.   The Stomp Out Loud show is running and is a bigger version (not necessarily longer version) of the Broadway Stomp show.  Krave is still there (alternative friendly nightclub).  The nightclubs/lounges that are taking over the Curve space probably won't open til Aug/Sept at the earliest.
