Sometimes LE will use a person caught with drugs to do "buys" in order to move up the chain and get bigger fish (dealers, etc).

Is there a corresponding practice for providers?  E.g. Provider caught and used to get hobbyists, or hobbyist caught and used to get providers.

Just curious about this really. Would a well-reviewed provider ever be used by LE to get hobbyists?

They go after pimps mostly because that's the "bigger fish"  to use your analogy.  Drug busts are felonies and this is a misdemeanor at least in Clark County.  They don't care about you or me we aren't "big fish" and the system doesn't work that way because there's no big end result.  Just a convenient way for the Man to make money off of us just like traffic tickets.  Unless you are a well established and known pimp, you are of very little interest to them and they aren't going to put in the time and planning into that, let alone the funds.  Felony convictions (like drug busts etc.) equal bonuses and pay raises for the task force etc. and misdemeanors (like solicitation for prostitution) don't mean squat at the end of the day to them. No promotion or bonus in the sweeps they do and assuredly not worth a mastermind plan to come after Joe Q. Hobbyist.

As Ashley said.... LE has better things to be doing in Clark County then writing up tickets. Don't you watch Jailhouse Rock on TruTv? The jail is already jam packed full of silly people.

Drug dealing in Nevada is a different story.... Major offense and not tolerated. My experience with Nevada is that as long you are not harming / bothering other people or putting other people in danger ... the majority could care less.

When you look at the pimps and escort agency owners that have been busted it's because they did something such as Ocean Fleming beating up one of his girls, a "massage parlor" ripping off people or it's been by the IRS special task force that's brought them down because Uncle Sam wants his cut.

Reviews are only stories. I'm just an aspiring fiction writer honing my skills for some future Harlequin romance novels...

As I said, only curious. I handle some criminal defense, and I have had clients in that situation (with drugs). I'm not familiar enough with enforcement of ant-solicitation laws to know. Just wondering if it ever happened.

What you said makes sense.

LVPD did run a Vice Enforcement Top Offender program a couple of years back to bust repeat offenders (providers) who were getting arrested multiple times per year.  The goal of the program was to have a better outcome than just repeatedly arresting the same people.  Providers real names and photos were published in the LVRJ.

I have been unable to determine the ultimate outcome of these cases, which probably means it failed to accomplish LE's objectives.

Typical Vegas Metro... asshats at work with tax payers money.  Only police force that has so many officer related shootings of civilians that IA can't seem to keep up.  Maybe they should focus on some seriously criminal internal problems they have than messing with providers and acronymns for their task force happy asses so the next elderly  person coming out of a Costco with a cane doesn't get gunned down next week.

I miss the good old days when the mob was defintitely present... at least they were righteous about their shit and loyal. There's at least honor in their code.   You need to be nervous when you have an encoonter with the cops and the criminal system out here for more than the fact you may have broken the law.  I can guarantee that you will be dealing with authority who has commited more crimes and broken more laws in a 10 hour shift than I could get into in a lifetime of spirited rebellion against Big Brother.  It's most likely THEM that's the repeat felon and worse than any criminal on the street because they get away with it and protect their own and circle in like a pack of wolves if anyone looks like their going to go rouge.

The irony of it all is these are relatively unintelligent people at all levels of the criminal justice system and they rely on snitches and in power in numbers, but, numbers and crowds are hard to control the bigger they get.  There will always be a weak link in the chain and that's all it takes to make the front page of the Review Journal and for us locals that makes a good day to see the dominos fall and watch those who have long deserved it get handed their asses on a platter with a side of "protective custody." Ha ha ha!!

Being born and raised here as kids we used to say:  "Las Vegas...Come on vacation and leave on probation!"  LMAO SHIIIT!!

I vaguely remember the photos in the RJ during VETO.  It was a one-time thing as best I recall that they ran the story and published the pics of a couple dozen girls.  They were all skanky streetwalker types, maybe some casino girls.

At times METRO has tried to get the RJ to post Johns' names and pictures in the paper but the RJ has always refused citing that it simply is not NEWS and it is not their business to be an extension of the justice system and an instrument of foisting non-judicial punishment in the form of public shame onto a person who has committed a misdemeanor.

Casual observation of TER says that METRO doesn't have time to work on the Hobby at this level.  I never see anything in the Vegas chat about Vice having run a sting or busted a lady from TER.  Frankly I don't think they have the time it would take.  Its like running a speed trap at the bottom of a hill where they can write a LOT of tickets, they set up their stings to get quantity arrests.

?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!
Really ???? Like for real ????........ You handle some criminal defense cases ........
SO does this mean you are a lawyer ? ........a criminal lawyer ......appose to lets say a tax lawyer
or a divorce lawyer
I mean maybe I am blond and I am having a blond moment but who else has clients and handles criminal defense cases ??

So really you don't know the difference between a charge that is a felony and a charge that is a
misdemeanor ???
Maybe it is just me , but I just find that quite odd.

Anyways - No one should fool themselves to think - LE has better things to do.
Well, one would think they have better things to do.......but they have many reasons why they also have prostitution stings.

Although prostitution itself is a misdemeanor , it can involve Felony crimes such as
Underaged girls , human trafficking , pimping and pandering , drugs , money laundering , tax evasion.............but I am sure if you handle criminal defense cases you do understand about
Felony charges , Yes ? ;-) ;-) ;-)

So how do they do these busts ?
Once again , sometimes certain things are better left unsaid on a very PUBLIC form.
I'll call  it "snitching to save your own ass" - Can it be done ? Is it even done ? Has it been done ?
Always assume , that anything is possible ........but no need to worry about it.
Just be sure you are hiring a well reviewed independent and you have nothing to worry about.

I mean seriously it is kinda like -
every time you get into your car do you worry that you will be in a car accident ?
I mean , it can happen ? will it happen ?? .......there is always that small chance maybe.
but you take proper precautions. You drive  sober , you wear your seat belt ,you drive safe ...
and you really don't worry about what maybe could happen.......... Just saying

Be safe , and you will be safe. ;-) ;-) ;-)
and don't forget, even if hypothetically one got busted , as long as you or the escort  aren't breaking any Felony  laws , it really isn't a big deal.

Seriously what is up with all these weird " I am just wondering" questions .
Things that make me go hmmmmmmm . but that is all I will say about that. ;-) ;-) ;-)

xoxo CindySpice

Vegas is controlled chaos.  What turns the heat up is when the women steal and the guy goes to the casino.  THEN they call metro and everyone is under the gun.

I worry more about casino security than I do metro.  But then, I am not a Carpet Ho!  I always meet the gent downstairs for a drink...I never just knock on the door of the room...and I have him escort me to valet when it's time for me to leave.
I go off property immediatly, escorted by my date.

When I pull up to ceertain properties the valets know me and are very happy to see me.
I alwasy tip well, but not over the top, and am very friendly with all employees.  I am not saying they know what I am up to, I don't think they do, but I also think no one cares if you conduct yourself in a friendly, classy, professional manner.

Play safe everyone!!
