today i got an email via TER from a guy asking if I was on twitter. ---I said " No, why do you ask"
-- he replied, "it would be good way to see what you about"
-- i said " my website is a pretty honest look at me...however, feel free to ask me anything you like "
-- he replied..."No, I'll pass"
So I ask you...Does a provider having a twitter account or being your friend on FaceBook or MySpace REALLY help you decide if you will or will not see a provider such as myself?

LaRue--
Very silly. Twitter is very much a "share with the world" kind of social network; by default one's tweets go out into the public where anyone can read them. Why should a hobbyist or provider be so eager to keep the world informed of his/her activities? This guy was a user--prolly figured he could get some jollies from reading about your exploits. I'd put him in the same class as the guys who say on the phone that they are "trying to schedule an appointment", but are actually just interested in keeping providers on the phone while they pleasure themselves. Don't worry about it for a moment.
Coming into town the end of the month for my annual summer pilgrimage. Save some time for me.. ![]()
Myself I do like to get to know the provider alittle before meeting. I am a little shy and this helps me relax more before our meeting. Its always done via email and an occasional phone call. I think Twitter and FB may be going alittle far. Dont get me wrong, I do have 1 provider I as friends with on FB. But nothing is said to about services and so on. Talking to the ladies via email or even TER chat is plenty good.
exactly--just get to you a little better---i hope i explained myself in the pm----i'm not talking about services or anything like that.
I got the same PM and just replied, 'no'.
I'm not interested in advertising on those forums. Personally, I reserve those forums, well really only FB, for my personal, private, civvie life. JMHO....though, to each their own!
The only times I've ever gone to Twitter have been to read 'shitmydadsays', which is hysterically funny, btw!
Samantha uses provider forums to advertise samantha's loveliness...social forums are for my day to day real life persona.
And, I noticed this gent who PM'd about twitter has not review or whitelist history either....
his loss. No you don't need to be on twitter or facebook, myspace make it so I will or won't see you. Your web site does a great job of letting folks see who you are.
Unless I made an Alias account on twitter, I can't imagine adding anything doing with our "hobby."
I wonder how many actually have added this site to their "follow tweets" list. Unless of course, they have two different twitter accounts.
Besides, I can see it now...
@LaRue - just made a guy come, quite sticky
@LaRue - heading to Wynn to meet a client
@LaRue - buying condoms, ribber for my pleasure
You'd obviously not be posting anything hobby specific. Other than you're beautiful and well reviewed, what else does one need to know?
After six months on Twitter, I still only semi-get what it's about, but you know, it's not my generation, so I guess I don't have to get it. But then again, maybe my ADD is mild compared to others
.
OTOH, make sense of this statement: twitter power user? Now that takes genius, as B3 would say, to get people to hang on every text message you send out to the world lmao...
I will say this, Twitter did come in handy when a couple of people were interested in seeing how a certain famous local escort's new ink turned out. I uploaded the shots to my account, everyone was happy.
Erotic Kim has an account, she's a bud, it seems to work for her. But she is younger, and has a background in IT, so maybe it's logical it would make more sense to her than to you or I.
I'll agree with Number6 on this. IT wise for SEO optimization etc. to your site it's not a bad idea by far. But, each to their own. Either you are running a business as a provider or your not. Either way, it's getting you out there & doesn't mean you have to actively participate over and over again. It will wind up on a current page of Google's search engine guaranteed even if you just sign up and create a page and only "tweet" (or whatever they call it) once and never again. I don't think the man was aiming to insult you, your intelligence or the quality and quantity of information on your website as if it were lacking. Sounds like he just wants a little more effort on your part. No harm in that if you are willing and have time.
Once again, like Number6 said, I don't get the premise of it either. It's one of the most borderline "WTF?", one way, kinda pointless in it's own right and weird things to hit the net and be popular as hell...????? Whatever.LOL
Just my two cents.
thank you everyone for your thoughts...for me, i don't think twitter is for the escorting world...and honestly, i just don't have to need to be that connected to a computer device at every moment of my life and broadcast to the world....the person who wrote me the email did reply back saying he was interested in my trip to Thailand...which makes sense, however when in such an exotic place as Thailand, a computer or computer type device and connecting to the internet was the last thing i wanted to do.
who knows...perhaps something may change my mind and I will feel the need to "tweet" and if i do you guys will be alerted.
LaRue, the one thing I can say is either way, I know you are "pretty tweet!", no matter whether you tweet or not.
