Thanks for the input so far!!! The reason I acted this way is I had read previously on the TER boards feedback that if you book with a provider it's not right to cancel at the last minute so you can get your 1st choice.
Providers PLEASE give me feedback on how I should have handled this so this doesn’t happen again:
I contacted a provider I really wanted to see 4 days prior to requested appointment time. The following day I also contacted a 2nd provider in case first one not available. This 2nd provider contacted me back quickly and setup an appointment – instructing me to contact them the night before or the morning of the appointment to reconfirm. The scheduler for the 1st provider got back with me 2 days later asking me to let them know what time I’d like to setup. I explained that I had a dilemma and had already booked another provider and asked if I might reschedule for another time and asked for their thoughts on how to handle the situation. In the meantime 2nd provider contacts me next AM to tell me they hadn’t heard back from me (I was supposed to call that night or next day) and she had a change in plans and couldn’t follow thru with apptment. Recontacted 1st provider’s scheduler but they would no longer respond to any of my emails. Sent one email again couple days later without luck.
Look, double booking and flaking on appointments are problems. Penalizing people because they are honest about having made plans is kind of dumb, if you ask me- especially when the potential customer is still interested in seeing the lady. Why chase away a customer who's honest enough to let you know they made a commitment, instead of doing the "I'll double book in case someone flakes, and then just drop someone on the floor" dance?
Also, last I checked, the money you get from the appointment still spends the same if you're the first choice or the second.
I think that you should have continued to follow through with Provider #2 since she was the one responding first. When Provider #1 called you could have tentativly set an appointment for a date stating your plans are not that flexible. Ddepending on if you had luck with Provider #2 you can always call #1 to say it wont work out, and hopefully next time. On the other hand, you just may have sent provider 2 home cause she isn't want you wanted or you are in the mood for more provider 1 is still on stand-by. IMO

Your integrity is appreciated. Yes you did the right thing. You played by the rules ( if story as is )
Shame on provider #2 for changing plans IF she told you to call the night before or the morning of the appointment. Personally I think she should have picked one option for confirmation so things would be very clear. Like – call me night before to confirm PERIOD. Then if you didn’t she can assume you may be flaking and make other plans.
I am curious what did provider #1 say to you when you asked- “for their thoughts on how to handle the situation”
If a lady feels offended because she was second/third/fourth choice or if a lady gets upset because by the time she got back to you, you booked someone else ………..... well she should get thicker skin or find another profession. As Boneboybob said- money is money still spent the same.
Second choice isn’t a bad thing , hey I have a few long time regulars because of that Of course it is important that the guy doesn’t have an attitude regarding his second choice. That isn’t nice. You can have a 2nd choice and still be a gentleman about it.
So you did the right thing and you got screwed and not in the good way , sorry that happened to you. ;-(;-(
So does this mean that next time you should do things different ? No ! Because two wrongs don’t make a right.
Now next time if you chose to contact the same ladies again ( which many guys do) …………. Well then don’t come crying on our shoulders.
Lesson learned- time to find other ladies who are more reliable.
Hope you have better luck next time. all the best Xoxo CindySpice
Whenever I'm looking for a new companion in a busy city like Las Vegas, I always contact 3 or 4 at the same time and tell them all that I'm contacting a handful of gals at the same time and the first to book with me gets my business. I give up on things like '1st choice, 2nd choice' and just have a 'possible to-do' list. Just be up front and honest about it, and I think the gals will understand. If they don't, you probably didn't want to see them anyway.
