Personally, I prefer short time, being that I can have two providers for the price of one long time session.  What do all you think?

all depends on the provider..... some can be great short time .... but others you want to be like an all day sucker ......

As a local, I do prefer short times with the providers.  When I travel out of state (Los Angeles, San Diego), I usually go with the multiple hours.
