More games to bet on at the beginning for the serious gamblers and more to choose from on the Parlay cards for the rookies to bet on. More teams at the beginning mean more fans that just bet on their teams.

The serious gamblers generally find better games to throw the money down on at the beginning of the tournament. Towards the end of the tourney the bookies tend to be right on the numbers and you won't find the major mismatches like you will in the first week.

That makes a lot of sense!  Unfortunately, I'll be out of the country during that first part of MM. *pout*

I'd also have thought that while the overall volume of visitors may be up during the early stages, those with serious cash to bet would be more interested in the later stages of things. Now, I'm not a gambler so if anyone wants to fill me in on how the odds thing works - feel free!  Just makes sense that if you're a big gambler looking for a big pay out, you'd make your bets towards the end of things instead of the beginning phases.

While I understand that little could compare to CES or the AVNs, what's Vegas usually like during March Madness (especially as it get to the Elite 8 or Final 4)?

Typically Las Vegas is busier at the beginning of the March Maddness tournament because there are so many more games to bet on, things tend to thin out and slow down after the Elite 8!

So I would plan on most of your inquires to be for March 18th-29th but you should still expect some "action" to be lingering from March 30th - April 8th!

Best of luck and stay safe! (Oh and Go Runnin' Rebels!!)

P.S. For those of you who aren't locals the nickname "Rebels" was given to UNLV athletic teams because the school, emerging from the shadow of the University of Nevada, Reno, in effect "rebelled" against its bigger and older brother to the north. The name "Runnin' Rebels" (always spelled without a "g") was coined in 1974 by Dominic Clark but refers ONLY to the UNLV men's basketball team!!

Three Conference Championship tournaments are in Vegas.  PAC -12, Mountain West and WAC.

Care for some 1 on 1 action, Edrienne?

I'm not planning on being out in Vegas during that time frame but I could always be persuaded... *wicked grin* (Lest this be construed as an ad, let's take it to PM/email if you want to continue talking about it)

it seemed busier than an average weekend (weather getting warm, early Spring Break, hoops), but not like a big 3 day weekend or anything.
