Ok, a fun question here to the regular hobbyist. I'm becoming one. If a lady claiming to be indepnedent shows up at your hotel with a guy (pimp) would you pay her the money for someone standing outside your room door at an elegant hotel? I don't think so. The one day if that should ever happen, I'm sending them home. That's why you never go to AGENCYS.
If you ask me, that's more of a driver than a pimp. And most pimps would not present themselves unless they wanted to kick the shit outta you.
BTW, agencies, at least here in Vegas, generally don't send a guy with the girl. The only time I see guys (outside of the driver situation) is for bachelor parties where the number of guys exceeds the girls by a large ratio and the girls want to feel safe in that particular situation.
Of course, if they're trying to scam you (theft/assault), muscle is always handy. I don't think it matters if they're indie/agency/random pickup/etc.
