Hello ladies (at least those of you who are still checking the TER board)...
I'll start by saying I'm not intending this as an ISO post, just a question regarding reference etiquette.
Is 'past 6 months' the standard etiquette a guy should follow on requesting (and providing) references?
As I prepare for an upcoming Vegas trip, I've noticed a few Vegas providers recently tweeting that they won't provide references for guys unless they've seen them in the past 6 months. My assumption is that based on this reasoning, these ladies also won't accept references that are more than 6 months old.
I was actually planning on trying to schedule with one of these ladies, but I decided not to contact her because my references are definitely not recent, and considering how infrequently I do this, they rarely will be. I also never want to be an annoying time waster by requesting a reference from a lady that I saw two years ago. I don't send my work information online, so I generally have always relied on references for screening (or showing my license at the beginning of the date).
As I mentioned, this isn't an ISO post. For this trip I've decided it makes sense to repeat with some of the great Vegas ladies I've already had the pleasure of spending time with.
Really, I'm just wondering if it is proper etiquette to follow the 6 month rule when requesting a reference from a lady? Or do some ladies use other cutoffs, like past 12 months?
Sorry, that was a long-winded way to ask a simple question.
