as far as working as an indy in this town? There is no other way to go. There is plenty of business. There will always be gents who are interested in seeing you AS LONG as you who you say you are, i.e. accurate pics, services ect. The agencies here take a substantial cut, put you in situations that can get you arrested and by and large do not take very good care of their girls. If you are a 6ft. tall African American beauty chances are you will get sent on a call where the gent wanted a petite asian. Its awkward for you, him and then you must hustle to make any money. Why do that when you can be an independant, see whom you wish, charge what you wish and enjoy the industry as you should.
As far as agencies trying to establish themselves here, well they come and open up, but usually all the really quality providers are Already working for themselves. So why on earth would they work for someone else and give them a piece of their profits? So that leaves recruiting girls from the bar scene ect. and while there are many many great bar girls, usually the good ones there find their independant status also.
My girlfriend and I have been reading the Las Vegas board. We have seen the comment that good agencies from other towns have come to Vegas and failed. We are trying to guess why, but have not come up with anything we feel is substantial. All we can guess is it is the type of lady who is drawn there to work is more independent and, therefore, not interested in working for an agency. Or maybe it is a town loaded strictly with pros? Regardless, she is moving there to work after August. She has been working for over a year successfully now, so...but I am not so certain I would go there and work as an independent, myself. All in all, why do agencies not succeed there?
They are a disservice to the industry .. they seldom ever provide good service, seldom do you get who you ask for, always a hidden agenda be it fees, full service, bait and switch, most girls are sub par ... and the additional costs are way out of line ... not to mention they constantly keep calling you with another girl, in the early am, late pm ... whatever ... I believe Celtic Lass said it somewhere ... Las Vegas is a place where we (hobbies) travel to, it's filled with tourist, conventions, etc. other places like DC, Chicago, have a built in population base of regulars to support the agencies Vegas is mostly transits ...... ok that's my .02
