Mr. Matlock gave me some advice in an earlier thread, but I remain confused.  Please understand it is not my intent to be a smart ass here; I am completely sincere in this post.

Since I wish to conform my conduct to the law (and thought I had), please let me and all of us know at what point below any law or ordinance is violated.  You can assume in all examples, except #1, that money is never offered for sex, nor sex for money.

1.  I drive over to Nye County to a bordello where I meet Jane and offer her money for sex.  She takes the money and we have sex.

(Jane says she'll be dancing at a Las Vegas Gentleman's Club the next Saturday.  I really like her, so I say I'll see here there.)

(Assume all of the following hypotheticals occur in Las Vegas).

2.  At the Gentleman's Club, I pay Jane $100 for a set of 3 lap dances (totaling about 10 min., which works out to a rate of $600/hr.).  I do this 2 or 3 times during the course of an evening, plus I buy her drinks.  The lap dances consist of her being nude except for a g-string, and she rubs her body all over mine.  I'm allowed to touch her everywhere except directly on her vagina and breasts.

(A light bulb goes off in my head, and I ask Jane whether she'll come to my home for an hour for $400.  Not only is it less expensive, but it's more convenient and I won't be drinking and driving.  She says "yes.")

3.  Jane comes to my home and I pay her $400 for an hour.  We sit on the couch and talk the whole hour.  I say I like her; she says she likes me too.  Are we okay so far?

(Would it make any difference if I were a lonely old man, such that there is no way Jane would spend time talking with me unless I paid her?)

4.  Jane comes back next month and I pay her $400 for an hour.  (BTW, let's keep in mind she spends an hour getting ready, and a half hour driving over, and back too.  So she's really spending 3 hours of her time).  This time, Jane gives me a kiss good-bye.  Any laws or ordinances broken yet?

5.  Next time, same deal as #4, except Jane performs the same lap dances that she did in the Gentleman's Club.  Are we still okay?

6.  Next time, same deal as #5, except during a lap dance Jane puts one of her nipples in my mouth.  Crossed a line?

7.  Next time, same deal, except we have sex.

If your answer is that any of paragraphs 3 - 7 are  illegal, then that means paragraph 1, where I negotiate sex for money, is recommended.  And if that's the case, we really are living in a theater of the absurd.

Firstly, he stated you were a fool to pay $2000.00 ($400 each visit) before actually having sex.

That out of the way, clearly you stepped over the line at #7. You paid her for sexual intercourse, assuming that is the kind of sex that was involved. To your original thread it is now when you should call him at 1-800-734-FOOL, STFU, do not talk to police under any circumstance.

          No responsible person is going to answer this for you. But you can make this determination yourself quite easily by reading the Nevada Statutes in Chapter 201 that define the crimes of solicitation and prostitution. Read very carefully the definition of “sexual conduct” in the definitions statute and you will understand state law on this question. Now do the same thing with respect to county ordinances.

And don't assume that everything you've seen happen during a lap dance is legal.

You DO NOT negotiate money for sex in Clark County period! That is solicitation/prostitution and that is illegal.

You can negotiate for her time, and what 2 consenting adults do with their time together is between them. You can talk, have a drink, dinner, etc.

Provided it's in a licensed brothel, this is legal.

There's probably some ordinances being broken here.  I don't think there's a difference between the various jurisdictions now (city of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Clark County) but she broke the law when her breasts and crotch made contact with you.  I don't believe touching by the customer is allowed.

Payment for time.  This is how most indies work.  Anything done in private between two consensual adults is between them.  It's a grey area of the law but this is how the industry manages to stay legit.  Your neighbors may register a compliant for noise nuisance or public nudity.

What I find really absurd is that the governement has any control at all in the fact that it is illegal for a woman to do what she wants with her body and for a man to adore her and give her praise in the form of money. I know we live in a world where the exchange of sex for money is illegal, but the fact that two people who choose to engage in this activity are seen as criminals is pretty strange to me even though its a stark reality.
