The first thing to do is, not beat yourself up.
It was a mistake, but at least something worst did not happen to you.
I would recommend, you have some of your favorite TER providers on speed dial in that city.
When you are working or traveling for leisure.
This way, you eliminate the risk and have a good time with a proven lady.
Just in case you are in that situation again.

Boy do I feel dumb....mostly pissed off at myself more than anything. I'm here in Vegas for work and after a long ass day, I decided to play some poker. After some ups and downs I ended up walking away winning $300 which felt like a good score for the night. Added to what I already had, there was now just over $700 in my wallet. I know because I counted it twice at the cashier station and I was 100% sober.
Then proceeded to the bar for a post celebratory drink and was propositioned by 2 working girls that happened to be there. I told them no at first but after some serious persuasion they talked me into spending some time with them. They kept pushing me to have a session with both of them but I didn't want to blow all my cash that night. I was only interested in taking one up to my room but they both insisted on going. I know sometimes these girls stay together for safety reasons and I didn't have a problem with them both coming up to my room. Once we were up there, I took care of business with the one girl....$300 total while her friend was supposed to just hang out and wait. I had put my wallet and phone down next to the bed and the girl I had paid kept trying to take me into the bathroom which I thought was odd. Finally I agreed but I took my wallet with me just in case. Eventually we ended up back in the bedroom and got down to business on the bed but I had left my wallet in the bathroom. The other girl said she had to pee, and was in there alone for about a minute. Well, as you can imagine after we finished up, I opened my wallet and the 3 $100 bills that I knew were still in there 5 minutes before were gone. All that remained were a few $20's and $10's.
This put me in a really awkward situation cause as I discovered this, the one girl I had been with was asking me for a tip. I flat out confronted them and told them that money was missing from my wallet and I just wanted it back. Well things got heated and it started to get argumentative. Of course the girl who ripped me off denied it to a tee and tried to make me feel like I didn't know how to count my money. She even tried to tell me I was drunk when I had only drank half a beer the whole night. I was starting to feel that my safety was coming into question and I asked one final time for her to return my money. At that point,I knew I wasn't getting it back so I asked them to leave which they finally did.
I just feel so stupid cause I knew from the moment they were trying to separate me from one of the girls, they were gonna rob me. That little one minute window was all they needed to make it happen and I was just too trusting and naive about it. This was the first time I've ever hired a girl in the casino and I intend it to be my last.
