On another board I particpate in a topic lead to the old debate of what is better LPIN of indy escorts.  A madam and a brothel working lady had the following things to say about the health practices of indies:   Escorts don't go to the Dr., they don't go see the Dr. enough, we don't know for a fact they go to Drs., ladies who use to work in LPIN don't keep the same hygiene pracitces, STD's are prevleant, indys are lazy and work the houses to steal customers and are not smart enough to keep their own, use to dark alleys, crack coke, pimps and are not clean enough for the job.  I found   this pretty sad.  Seems to me like they are running scared and are hoping if they sling enough mud some of it will stick.  The above picture they try to paint does not sound or look anything like the wonderful ladies I've meet in the hobby, indies rule!!!

You know me I work both side....The only reason I go to the houses is to show I am clean to my guys that I have working indy...
What the Madam and brothel working girls are not telling you...There is alot of drugs being used in the houses to..one of the houses had to get lifeflight to come in because a girl OD...I left a house before because must of the ladies had pimps..At one of the bigger houses 2 Pimps got into a fight over 2 ladies.....I seen a girl at the ranch that took a bath about 2 times a week...she was nasty...

I think the girls in the Ranches are lazy....All they have to do is look pretty at all times..The brothels do the rest...Lock down sucks

Indy's have to take care of the ad's..We work the computer to keep up with email...(Saleing yourself is not all the time easy because there is  alot of girls out there)...We are all the time on the  phone and all top of that we need to look our best...I like working indy the most...I like being able to work are not work when I want...Plus I get to go somewhere  when I want to go.....Sometimes my guys take me out to really nice places...
While in a Brothels you are looking at walls all the time

Wow! Pretty harsh. I would proffer this perspective: Indies are more concerned about their privacy, don't want to be conveyor belts, and don't want to give up so much of their hard earned cash. With more cash anyway, chances are we have insurance plans, and are very scrupulous about our hygiene due to the fact that our bodies are our business. With boards like this, an unhealthy/unclean indy wouldn't last very long I would imagine. Maybe she is only familiar with the kind of girls seen on programs like COPS...(and I think they should be left alone too).

It sounds like these LPIN's have low self-esteem and lack the confidence and assertiveness it takes to be an independent.  Instead of rising to the indy level, they lash out and try to drag the indy name down.

I used to work in San Francisco and it is the most soul killing place to work on earth. The STREET WALKERS are considered the same as Indies. I never walked the streets and I hope I never do. It does not matter to the guys in SF that the girl is on the net, that she screens (if you can even get a guy to agree to be screened) or anything. They treat the women there like GARBAGE. When I was taking appointments there, it was so bad that it took me 3 weeks to stop crying. and I wasnt even on the streets!!!!!, I was on the net. SF was slumming to the inth degree. It was horrible. I used to wonder why the top indies there travel. They have to, that's the only way to meet decent guys and make any money.

I think what happened there was there are just too many indies (300+ on Eros, 175+ a week in the "spectator" and dozens upon dozens on SFRedbook and Cityvibe) not the mention all the girls on the street. Here in Vegas you see 5 to 8 girls in a square block on the "ho stroll" if youre lucky. There you see 25/30 girls in each block in SF. The guys have so many choices that the prices have gone way down and the service from these girls is even worse.

The guys try to haggle all the time. i dont mean the haggling we know and love like "can you knock $50 off the $350 rate" I mean...CAN I GET IT FOR $50? Not $50 OFF...$50...FIFTY DOLLARS! And the guys know if they call enough girls one of them will say yes. I honestly dont know how they all make money. Seattle is getting as bad as SF, but is not quite there yet.

On one board in SF a girl wrote a thread giving advice on how to leave your pimp for good. You would NEVER see that kind of post here. The guys on the board slammed her good. The problem is that in some places the picture that was painted "IS" the truth. These girls are crack/coke heads, they get beat up and raped by their pimps and they are disease ridden. Tricks beat them up and they get robbed on a regular basis. it's sad and sickening.
Nobody walks up to the "HO" booth on career day in high school and signs up. You kinda fall into this. The Internet has provided most Indies with a VERY nice life. The girls on the street are not so lucky. These girls are human and are treated so badly. God its so sad.

Yes, you guys are very lucky. So the next time you see your ATF Indy say THANK YOU.

I agree with your analysis.  It also seems to me that they're describing street workers as opposed to the high quality ladies we are used to here on these discussion boards.

Sadly even though what they are describing is a street worker, they are aiming this at the indies we see.  The thread on this topic on the other board has gotten very lengthy.  The working girl dropped out of it, but the madam keeps on going trying to make her point.

Of course they are going to knock the competition...they would rather have you spend $5000 on a date  and give the "girl" $1000 and keep the rest..then hear you go see an indie and spend $500 ..thats money you are not spending with them..I dont know about anyone else..but I am have more apt. at diferent doctors ..personal trainors ..massage therapists..then mostpeople..every girl that has an iq over 40 knows the importance of regular doctor visits...you would  not drive your car a thousand miles a week without checking under the hood..its just common sense....you have to look at each girl on a one on one... yes brothels have regular checkups for girls...but..if you expect me to believe that not one girl there has never done drugs or does not know how to get past the drug screens your crazy...if a girl does not seem to care about her bussiness..ie does not know about posting online or does not seem with the times..then you would have to think she does not take at least as much concern with her health....if a client is only willing to spend $50 on a "girl" then obviosly he will get what he pays for..so yes I am saying the more you spend chances are the better quality you will get..but..I am not insinuating that the $5000 you spend at a brothel makes for a better product because most of it is the house charging extra..as for brothels knocking indie girls..I would expect nothing less...my 2cents

I am not available to see many ladies who work independently in Vegas (some their choice, some mine, there are a couple who are on the list, though), but frankly, this isn't even close.

I myself would never give my money away... never..but..Back in Boston when I first started I worked at one of the better agencies..and they on a regular basis called different pimps for new girls..they  gladly hired any girls the pimps wanted to work on any given day...and if they had a problem with a girl wanted her to act differently, wear different clothes,whatever ..they would call the pimp and tell him,rather than tell the girl, because they knew he would make sure she did it or else..pretty sick in my opinion...
