Okay, not a profound question here, but I've been thinking about hobby theory and a short history of time: what time of night is ideal for a meeting? Obviously it varies for us all--on our personal preferences, work schedules, circadian rhythms, whatever. I'm curious in general about what the most popular times are, but tonight I'm really wondering about one small variable: provider cancellations and the subsequent hope of salvaging a night. Like many of us, I can say with pride that I've been stood up by some of the best providers in the country. The last time I was in Vegas I had a 10pm meeting set up weeks in advance with one of the city's celebrated ladies, and got the apologetic phone call around 9. (Hey--thanks for the call!) Trying to find another A-list provider at 9 pm was not easy, to say the least. I'll be in Vegas again in a couple weeks and hope to enjoy the city's wonderful resources. I generally like to see a girl on the late side, 10 or 11, but maybe I should play it safer and think earlier. So I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this: how late is too late to find a good replacement? Do you factor this into the time of the date? (or: do you factor in the predictable tardiness? etc.) Obviously this doesn't matter to locals, but for us out-of-towners who don't want to waste an opportunity, it might be an issue. Again, i know this isn't exactly a major problem, but I admit that I enjoy thinking about this stuff and setting up the *perfect* night--part of the fun for me.
